Look at my gorgeous new cat

  1. I already have 4 cats but this one won me over at the shelter. She was too old and sleepy to get up and come over, but she looked at me and blinked her acknowledgement. Even now she'll go to get up and either it's just too much effort, or she's too cosy, and she'll change her mind and flop back down.

My problem is that I can't seem to sit down without her company. Right on my chest so I can't do needlework or read. I moved the TV up so I could see it, but I can't be a slug for the rest of her life. How can you politely convince a cat to snuggle up elsewhere when she's purring like and outboard motor. I just don't have the heart.

How pretty, maybe once she gets used to her new home she will give you a little space, but somehow I think you wouldn't want that. Congrats on your new addition.

Awwwwwwww...what a sweetheart...I LOVE kitties My Max is always laying on my chest. As soon as I settle into my recliner to watch TV...here he comes. He has to put his face ascloseasthis to mine...and he snores! :chuckle Then he'll reach out his paw and rest it on my face. But, ya gotta love him.

Good luck with your new feline friend

Max and Liz would get along famously.
It's getting so if I go over to the sofa she jumps up in anticipation, and this morning actually yowled at me when I walked away. I'm just too soft and cuddly for words.

I love the kitty in the sun picture. The cat has captured all that is warm and wonderful and sleepy!

She's precious! We have the same "problem" in our house. My husband calls it "trapped on the couch by the higher power on his lap."

Awwww! What a lovely cat she is! I think having a purring cat on your chest is one of the most therapeutic things in life.

I had a cat named Natasha when I was growing up! She was a Manx and I loved her SO much. We got her from my mom's bosses at the hair salon she worked at. It seemed this cat liked company and since her owners had a hair salon, they didn't have much time for her anymore. I was 12 when my mom and I went to pick her up and they put her in a basket with a lid (like a snake charmer's basket) and she caterwauled the whole way home in the back seat of the car. When we got her home, she hid behind the couch and swatted anyone who dare try and get near her. I was so disappointed! I had wanted a kitten and I got this big, fat, old cat with no tail and a crazy meow who swatted at me. Little did I know that very soon I would fall in love with her and she would become my all time favorite cat. She has since passed away, but I will always remember her.
