License Plates

  1. Anyone got any good ideas for a personalized license plate? 6 letters or numbers, or any combination. I would like to have something nursing related.

IDOIVS - read I do IVs

    Stuff like that?

i know you are excited about becoming a nurse. it's understandable. i was considering doing the same thing but was warned not to do so. people may see what you do for a living and attempt to take advantage of you. if you have something to lose, people are more apt to sue. please think about it. i wish you could trust everyone in the world, but you can't. someone may identify what you do and try to profit from it. i know, i know, nurses aren't rich, but they do have secure and decent paying positions. be careful - sometimes its best not to advertise.

***** answer to pjrnc2: no, not my cat but i do have an identical 'version' who is now a 16y/o. she bacame a part of the family when i was just 12!! *****

I don't know if broadcasting your profession on your car is such a good idea. Just as there are foot fetishes and things like that...there are also those who have nurse fetishes. The last thing I would want is someone like that stalking me. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying people with fetishes are crazy rapists...I just like to be cautious.

but I wouldn't bother with it. Wait until your in the proffesion for a couple years before you decide......I think you'll be kicking yourself in two years or so, if you do it now.

I don't have custom license plate but I do have a bumper sticker from the ANA from 1995 that reads "Every patient deserves a nurse." Had a woman follow me one day and when I pulled into the place I was going, she got out to ask me where I got the bumper sticker; she was a nurse and she wanted one too.

I designed a bumper sticker for our volunteers for Volunteer Week that read:

    I'd rather be cuddling

    At **** Medical Center

Boy, were they a hit!! And not just with the volunteers!

I have tossed the idea of getting personalized license plates with RN somewhere in the number, but now that I live in Ohio, customized plates would run me another 50 bucks a YEAR! I never thought about the crazies out there who might stalk a nurse. So I guess I'll just keep my anonymous plates! Where can I get a bumper sticker like the one you mentioned Zee?

kaknurse, i got my bumper sticker at the March on Washington in 1995. The ANA was passing them out. Don't know if they still have them; check the ANA site.
