"I did not have a homosexual relationship with a man in Denver. I am steady with my wife. I'm faithful to my wife."

    Then why resign?

Some churches are very strict with their regulations about who can be a leader.

The slightest whisper of a personal problem and they're out, no matter how the particular issue resolves.

The man could very well be innocent, but because his duty is to the service of the church, the elders will get together on an issue like this and come to a decision about how best to serve the needs and preserve the unity of the church.

But as always, time will tell and the truth will come out eventually.

Pastor Ted has recently been interviewed by Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw, Bill O’Reilly, and Chris Matthews. Time Magazine has included Pastor Ted in their list of the 25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America. The Wall Street Journal noted his advisory role with the Bush White House, calling him one “of the nation’s most politically influential” clergy, and Harper’s Magazine says, “No pastor in America holds more sway over the political direction of evangelicalism than does Pastor Ted.”

Thank God it was an adult!

Dear New Lifers and friends of New Life Church,

Many of you have expressed concern about today's news regarding our pastor. Thank you all for your prayers and support, and for your concern for our church family.

As you've likely heard by now, Pastor Ted has voluntarily placed himself on administrative leave as New Life's senior pastor to allow our external board of overseers to work effectively. Below is the statement that we released to the media on Thursday afternoon.

Since that time, the board of overseers has met with Pastor Ted. It is important for you to know that he confessed to the overseers that some of the accusations against him are true. He has willingly and humbly submitted to the authority of the board of overseers, and will remain on administrative leave during the course of the investigation.

I am serving as the acting senior pastor of New Life Church. I met with the pastoral staff and elders Thursday night, and I assure you that the leadership team is strong and united. We remain resolute in our commitment to serving New Life Church and the people of our community.

Please continue to keep Ted and Gayle and their family in your prayers.

I love serving God with you all,

    Ross Parsley

    That really cracked me up.

So much for the so-called Kerry scandal ... this one's gonna blow the Kerry flap off the front pages real quick.

It can't compete with yet another a Republican gay sex scandal.

That website left me speechless, Jane.

I had no idea that the pastors that I listen to, respect, admire, have learned from and been on mission trips with, had generated such hatred.

What a sad world this is.

Accused pastor admits to buying meth
"I did call him," said Haggard. "I called him to buy some meth, but I threw it away."

Oh gee that's so much better than being a homosexual.

I hope he's not a homosexual because those types of homosexuals (think Mr. Foley) and the escort trying to bring him down degrade upstanding homosexual citazens everywhere.

    Christian runs with big dogs

At one typical meeting in Washington with a half-dozen other evangelicals, Haggard eyeballed Bush and pitched his point. But it wasn't about abortion or gay marriage - rather, of all things, the steel tariff.

"I told him we wanted it out," Haggard recalled. "I said, 'Those unions in Pennsylvania are not gonna vote for you. Your responsibility is the good of the people and free trade is the way we get cheaper steel.' "

He isn't entirely innocent, because he's admitted to some of the charges. As for me, I say good riddance to bad rubbish.
