  2. I know there's a lot of dog lovers on this board so I thought I'd show you a new breed that I found. I never heard of them anyway. They are a cross between a lab and a standard poodle. They call them Labradoodles. They don't shed and are good for people with asthma or allergies.
I think they are sooooo cute. I want one. Just wanted to share.

    Oh! He IS cute!

There are alot of new breeds around. One I came across was a Puggle, which was a cross b/t a Pug and a Beagle. They looked kind of funny, though. I liked the look of a Pug alone.

What a cutie! Hey, sounds like this would be a good pup for our houseful of allergy sufferers!

But would it, could it get along with the cat?

Reminds me of some small breed -- maybe like an overgrown shiztsu or similar . I'm trying to imagine the personality and temperament that would result from that combination ---- smart and mellow.

Apparently these dogs were bred specifically for use as guide dogs for blind folks who had allergies to dog hair. Now they are becoming popular as pets and in some countries they can be shown. Cost is minimum $800. They come in all colors and some coats are curly and some are straight but terrier looking. Their disposition is as jemb said "smart and mellow".

What a cutie! That would sure make a nice house-dog...but not for $800+ Dog breeding is definately a lucritive business!!

Gonna have to forward him on to my aunt who will want one immediately :chuckle

After seeing this adorable picture, I made me think that I could use this site to find a yorkiepoo.

Last May, I lost my friend of 6 years. She was a yorkiepoo. A cross between a yorshire terrier and poodle. 4 pounds of love.

Anybody out the know where I can find another.? I could never replace her, but she was wonderful and I believe another will fill the void.

He is adorable. Some of the mixed breeds are so much cuter and funnier and nicer than the purebreeds.

But paying $800 for what amounts to a mutt??? I don't think so. It takes a long time to get a breed stable enough to breed true, and I think that until it's been around for a lot longer than these dogs have been, it's still a mutt.

My grandmother had a dog who was a beagle/(Oh bother, I can't remember the name of the other breed. The only word that comes to mind is Volkswagen and I know that's not right. You know - a sausage-dog) anyway, that was the smartest dog I've ever seen in my life. What a great breed that would have been.

A friend of mine has a cross between a lab and a beagle. What a great breed that would be, too! Seems like no matter what you cross with a beagle, comes out good.

Baby was a doby-rotty mix. What a cool/smart/lovey dog she was. If she wanted to come in, she'd turn around and knock on the door with her tail!

I've been cruising the rottweiler rescue pages again. There's a huge (about 100#) rottweiler shaped hole in my house and my heart. If he were here now, he'd be protecting me with all of his might. *sigh* I guess - no, I know I need to wait until I'm stronger, but I feel so vulnerable and in need of a rottweiler right now. Oh well....

    Okay - sniff. Carry on
