1. Honestly, I have never considered myself graceful...however, early this past Monday morning, I was smack dab in the middle of an admission, had weighed pt with wheelchair scales, and had moved them into the hallway, just to get then outta the room...pt requested a blanket, I went to clean utility room to get it for her, was on my way back to the room and caught the outer aspect of my right foot on the edge of the wheelchair scale...I flew...had minimal air time but felt the direct effects of gravity soon after lift-off !!!! My co-workers surrounded me (bless their hearts !!!) and asked if I had hit my head...being the clown that I am, I told them it would be very difficult to ascertain a head injury in such a bizarre person as myself....they helped me to my feet and I can honestly say the only body part that had pain at the time was my right elbow...I managed to finish the night despite the pain and sudden inability to use my right arm to open doors, although I could lift patients in bed although there was a strange lack of response during the action from my right ring finger, and little finger....I completed the required paper work for the incident, came home and did the whole first aid routine for soft tissue injuries....that afternoon, upon rising from my bed, my left knee
would hardly support me and the elbow injury was now one big bruise...I called the nursing supervisor and told him I was unable to work that night...very understanding....I went to the couch and elevated the knee, iced it, elevated elbow, iced it...The next day, my knee was much better...however, my elbow is still so very painful...have looked everywhere on the internet and have come to the conclusion that I have bruised my ulnar nerve...nope...haven't had any x-rays done to exclude a fracture ...way too much range of motion in the joint...it's just painful and those 2 fingers have a crampy, numb sensation....
also having an electrical shock sensation occasionally along lateral arm...add the fact that I am just plain sore all over from the spill...and bruises are popping up on places where I do not remember hitting the floor...I must, I must feel better by Saturday...I must...

Hey.. don't feel bad. I'm the world's worst klutz ! I remember my mom telling me as a little kid that when I ever got married, I'd trip over my own wedding gown going down the aisle...

Needless to say, I really did have that on my mind on my wedding day !

I goof around so much, and don't know where to put all my excess energy...that I end up tripping and falling all over myself.

That's ok.. someone always gets a chuckle out of it..
They're used to me by now.. and so am I.

The only thing I would say is stop self-diagnosing and get to a doctor if you don't feel better.

This, from a born klutz. I'm surprised I lived 44 years without breaking a bone yet. I'm surprised as many walls and chairs I run into and things I drop that they haven't drug screened me.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I agree with above, go to the employee heath Dr. asap! why suffer in pain? And this advice is coming from what my husband calls "Bull in China Shop" I am not the most graceful creature on the earth either.
