Why do nurses have to have a day? Or a week?

Nurses' Day is not about ones sexuality....

I guess celebrating birthday's should be banned too because that is about sexuality. I mean, we all come from a sexual act.

[QUOTE=eltrip]As an American and a Southerner, I am SO tired of rednecks like the KKK making the rest of us look like a bunch of ignorant bozos whose family trees don't branch!

Amen!!! I cringe when I see KKK on talk shows or whatever and think..GOD, I hope the rest of the country realize how small a minority they are..and real southerners like me do NOT think/feel that way.Nauseating :/

First let me say that [B].... But I must ask this question.... Why do they want to flaunt their sexual preferences?
Tell me, June, do you "flaunt" your sexual preference? Do you hold hand with your significant other in public? Do you hug in public? Do you kiss in public? Or what do you consider "flaunting"?

    This isn't about homosexuality.

It's about the KKK & their decision to protest against homosexuals who plan to attend a particular amusement park on a certain day.

What business is it of theirs? Of ours? Isn't our sexuality or the choices of how we choose to live our lives between us & our creator?

Why should the KKK protest or threaten these individuals because of their sexuality? I don't see them protesting against pedophilia or bestiality...both of which cause harm to the innocent and powerless. How will their action make this world a better place?

It won't...it's a pointless endeavor by ignorant bigots to terrorize a portion of the population, if not the entire population. And perhaps to gain some exposure for their "cause."

It's an excellent production about women talking about vaginas...why we fear the word...violence against those with vaginas...discussions of what other "vaginas" are doing to make the world a safe place for "vaginas."

It made me laugh and made me cry. It's usually presented around Valentine's Day (V-day).

It's available in printed form, but the live performance is SO much better!

CNM2B, my kids are all grown. But I do not want my grandchildren to be exposed to that lifestyle. Just as I don't want them exposed to any other life style that is against my beliefs. And yes, even though it may be politically incorrect, the homosexual lifestyle is against my belief as a Christian.

Again, I personally do not see why anyone has to have a "day" that they publically flaunt their sexuality. As I said, why can't they just come to Dollywood and enjoy themselves along with all us other people and not make a spectacle of themselves.
If you do not want your grandchildren to be exposed to 'that kind of lifestyle', then the only choice you'd have would to lock them in the house with no TV or newspaper. (Wait that would be child abuse...)

And as a Christian, i learned, and was raised, not to judge others or how they live. Remember, there is a passage in the Bible about that...

It's by Eve Ensler. It's now performed all over the place. Let me know what city you're living in and I can probably tell you when the next performance will be.

Ensler was recently here in Seattle workshopping her next piece, which is about body image and eating. It's really good, but of course needs a little work (which is why she was workshopping it).
