Kids hang American flag upside down

  1. I received this in an email and double checked it on snopes hoping it wasn't true. Obviously I can't link to the email I received but this is pretty close:

I like to think of myself as easy going. I can understand why Mexicans want to come to this country. But this really really really pisses me off. They want to come to this country for freedom and prosperity but yet they treat the symbolism of that freedom like this.

And to think between my husband and I we have 30 years' military service to protect the freedom of just this type of expression.

I am not surprised and not "pissed" just disappointed.

Yep, you and your husband and countless others risk their lives so these boneheads can do this.

For some reason, I'm not disappointed. I wish I was. I am royally ticked off. Livid.

I'm not sure which source you are referring to. But I did consider the source that's why I went to snopes, then the school's website, then to numerous newspaper sites. When I receive emails like this one I do research to make sure it is correct. I do not want to post something that is false.

Here's the school website. Scroll down below the pictures and there's a pdf statement made by the school to read.

Well, at the last Olympics in the US, they hung the Canadian flag upside down... I think it's kind of obvious which was is up!

I live in Southern Az, and during the protests and failed boycotts, I did see plenty of American flags hung upside down. Plenty.

What, is this an epidemic?? This may be America, land of the free, but that doesn't mean you can disgrace the flag. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there were flag laws. And those that do this should be in jail or deported. I have no patience for this crap. I have traveled to several foreign countries (one being Korea) and you better believe I treated the people and the laws with extreme respect. I didn't go and hang their flag upside down. I respected their customs even taking my shoes off upon entering a hotel.

I'm a tolerant person, I'm easy going to an extent. But piss me off and I get mean. This is mean, and I may get flamed for it, but the people in this picture need to go home.

Just like when the Americans and Mexicans played soccer down in Mexico (was played this year up here, a couple of weeks ago), the Mexicans were all chanting "Osama Osama Osama" and throwing things at the American players. Sad. Very sad.

We obviously take care of many many of them in the hospital I work, in the Phx area and I have no problem with that. I love working with this population as most of them are EXTREMELY grateful and thankful. But I agree that the ones that are chanting Osama and doing these things to the American flag shouldn't be up here, as they don't respect our country enough.

I didn't hear about the soccer game. I have had several pts who were Latino descent and I never had a problem with them. They seem to be grateful for what they receive. When I speak to them in spanish, they light up, thankful that they can communicate with someone.

I'm afraid I came across as a bit prejudice and I'm not. I don't look at a middle eastern and think they're a terrorist. Just because one is middle eastern, Latino, etc does not make them a bad person. I would be just as angry if a caucasian did this.

You didn't come across as prejudice. I think I was just a bit defensive in my post because I didn't want to come across as prejudice because I'm not ...... but I do have a problem when people try so hard to get into our country, and yet they disrespect it and the people.
