One of our night staff still didn't reset her clock, and turned up 1 hour early tonight!!

My last night in ICU (before I start my job as nurse recruiter tomorrow) was last night. Yuck!!! Just what I needed -- a 14-hour night and a "fake day off" (today) before starting a new job.
It was, of course, a rotten night. Our Telemetry unit had 2 call-offs so they closed the unit to admissions. So ICU took 6 telemetry admissions from the Emergency Room (taking up ALL our available ICU beds) and then at 5 AM they wanted to transfer in 2 patients from the ER that really WERE ICU patients--and now we had no where to put them (as we had warned them about earlier). All the ICU beds were taken up with telemetry patients (and two of them were 23-hour observation patients!).
So they wanted us to transfer SEVEN people out of ICU at 7AM to Telemetry and leaving us open to take all the new admissions again....like we were the "processing" unit for monitored bed admissions. *sigh*

I'm just glad we survived the time change without needing to take my husband to the ER!
