Just need to vent a little and feel sorry for myself for just a minute

  1. I just really need to express myself and get this off of my chest.

On Monday my boss went out to lunch and after about 45 minutes came back wreaking of Scotch. So bad his entire office stunk of it for the next few hours.

I am just frustrated and irritated because this is so against my values and there is nothing I can say or do about it.

I am not a prude or teetotaler or anything, I like to have a beer or two but never in the middle of the day at work or where I would have to drink and drive.

I have seen him and many of the other guys here come in hung over. We even had one sales guy who got a DUI and ran off the road crashing his company car after he and my boss took their clients to a strip club, drank all night and then attempted to make the 60 minute drive home at 3:00AM.

You think they would learn their lesson after that. That's what makes me so mad, it's the culture here. I just have absolutely no tolerance for alcohol abuse or drinking and driving.

Thanks for letting me vent about this.

I drank and drove for over 26 years.Thank God I never killed anyone.People who drink and drive always think they are good drivers and that nothing will ever happen to them. What they don't realize in a split second that can loose everything,if they were to crash and kill someone.Your home, job, family, and freedom just because of a couple of drinks. My wife got a DUI 5 years ago, thats when I stopped drinking and driving.I also stopped drinking 2 1/2 years ago.To me its makes you feel good for alittle while, but the price is to high.I have just as much fun without it.

That sux, Colleen. It would bother me, too. They should know better... but some lessons are learned the hard way... and all too often at the expense of innocents.

I hate that you have to exposed to such inconsideration nad foolishness.

    Colleen,
I am sorry you are stuck in the middle. Last I heard it is not against the law to be stupid. Since it is your boss, it is very sticky. He is not family or a friend, so an encounter or what ever the formal confrontation is called is not a good idea. I am sure the next poster will have the name

    We are here,
    Barbara
