Ok, just so you guys know.....I'm accident prone to begin with. I decided on Wed night to slip on a throw rug and ended up with a really nasty sprained ankle. Had injured it about 8 years ago and decided to self-treat for a while. Still ended up in the ER (where I work) on Thanksgiving and bought myself a nice shiny pair of crutches and a really cool ankle splint. The crutches are in the corner and I'm still hobbling around. No way I'm using crutches. Anyway, now the lateral aspect of my ankle is really hot and red. No increase in pain or swelling. So, I call the ER to ask them what to do. Tell them I'm a nurse and I work there.......the answer I got was "I can't tell you anything you'll have to come back to the ER" Yeah, right. I'm home alone (DH is at work) and I have been taking pain meds so there is no way in he** I'm driving.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......... I thought I'd ask the wealth of knowledge around here what could be going on.
