pleased to meet you peachy.
i used to post ad nauseum but have been taking a sabbatical these past few months.
gracie- i have no problem when you post- it's always saturday somewhere. and of course you've learned already how adjustable we all are.
rainy-i'm sooooo glad you're on the path to recovery.
siri, you sound much better.....thank you God.
i still haven't done much in terms of Christmas; this time last year our tree would have been up, shopping done, gifts wrapped.
tiffany was discharged from the hospital and is now living in a highly reputable substance abuse program; bipolar and using go hand in hand. now i'm getting feedback from the staff how stuporous she is, w/slurred speech. they increased her lithium in the hospital and drew a level on the day of discharge....even though they increased it by 300 mg daily, her level was still the same as if she had been on her lower dosage. and now she's on 15mg of zyprexa qd- i'm wondering if that takes weeks to take its' effect.
she's also been crying alot, wanting to come home. even though it breaks our hearts, we're not going to let her. it's a 4-6 month program w/a 98% success rate. and this place is setting up outpatient therapy as well as a psychiatrist so tiffany can get help w/her mental health/bipolar and have another psychiatrist evaluate tiffany's regimen.....sheeesh....every psychiatrist has a different perspective and she's been on sooooo many meds. there has to be something that works w/o it making her stuporous. she was actually on meds that were inducing her mania! why didn't any of these psychiatrists know this? i've done so much research and that's the one consistent thing; that you don't give an ssri or any meds for adhd, to a person w/bipolar. it's really scary what the professionals don't know.
so tomorrow we can visit her-we can't talk to her during the week. we expect her to beg and cry to come home. please give me the strength to say no so she can get the help she so desperately needs.
we had quite the nor'easter here today. my ds is shoveling the deck and stairs now.
and neither of my sons want to eat!!!
but when dad's home, they always eat for him.
hmmmmm. fine. let them have cereal.
everyone, enjoy any peaceful moments.
