Actually, if I had had to go to work today, I would have never made it. Our town was flooded last night. The local hotel is totaled, one area of the roof caved in, wall caved in. The managers and their family were living there, they lost everything. Trailers washed away, one man's body found in a tree (he had drowned). The local park's fences were knocked down. Many other buildings with damage. Lots of roads closed. I was going to go into SanAntonio to see a movie today since it was my day off and my mother said
"You're not going anywhere" I am hoping to be able to get to work tomorrow, but would not hesitate to call in if the roads are still closed. My mother thinks that we got over 7 inches here at our house, but we were very blessed. We have about 75 head of goats, two horses, two dogs, and about 15 cats but nothing got hurt. One woman near town had a bunch of sheep washed away. We were supposed to take some of the goats to market and pick up feed today, but ended up staying at home and eating fresh fruit, donuts, and chocolate ice cream with banana pieces while we sat and watched TV :chuckle. Not to mention answering the phone several times to talk to family and friends who were calling to check on us. It hasn't rained since about 10:00 this morning, but I can hear some distant thunder and the news was talking about more rain coming. I will have to shut the computer down and unplug it when I go to bed in case of power surges from any lightning.
