It's raining, it's pouring...

  1. I wish we could send some of this to you all fighting those forest fires right now. Blowdrying my hair before work was a waste of time today, it just got wet again as soon as I got out of my car at work. This is the third day of off and on rain, supposed to keep going till tomorrow morning. What is the weather where all of you are?

That's how it was here just last week JillyT. We did need the rain, but this is rediculous. We really have to watch for flooding in this area. For now, I'm just "Singing and Dancing in the Rain"

It's decent here in Maine. Sunday actually got quite close to the 100's. It was quite sticky today, actually it's pretty sticky right now at 10pm.

Looking forward to tomorrow...not the 4th though.... dang

The news was just talking about some road closings due to flooding. I am wondering if I am going to make it home or if I am going to have to stay here.

Today was just hot and sticky; but we did have several rain storms on Friday. Our area is under a "mandatory water restriction" because of the drought. Hope we get more rain so the lakes will fill up again. Most of all, I really pray for rain in the west where all the hugh brush fires are. I live in central NC.

Today in Philadelphia it's supposed to be in the mid 90's with very high humidity and even worse tomorrow. This weather really sucks! I don't know how anyone without air conditioning can survive and not have a meltdown. I love snow!!!!

All the rain you guys have had is blowing my direction, near OKC. It rained all day yesterday, and again this morning. I just heard thunder. Enjoy the rain, you may go over three months without it again.

Actually, if I had had to go to work today, I would have never made it. Our town was flooded last night. The local hotel is totaled, one area of the roof caved in, wall caved in. The managers and their family were living there, they lost everything. Trailers washed away, one man's body found in a tree (he had drowned). The local park's fences were knocked down. Many other buildings with damage. Lots of roads closed. I was going to go into SanAntonio to see a movie today since it was my day off and my mother said "You're not going anywhere" I am hoping to be able to get to work tomorrow, but would not hesitate to call in if the roads are still closed. My mother thinks that we got over 7 inches here at our house, but we were very blessed. We have about 75 head of goats, two horses, two dogs, and about 15 cats but nothing got hurt. One woman near town had a bunch of sheep washed away. We were supposed to take some of the goats to market and pick up feed today, but ended up staying at home and eating fresh fruit, donuts, and chocolate ice cream with banana pieces while we sat and watched TV :chuckle. Not to mention answering the phone several times to talk to family and friends who were calling to check on us. It hasn't rained since about 10:00 this morning, but I can hear some distant thunder and the news was talking about more rain coming. I will have to shut the computer down and unplug it when I go to bed in case of power surges from any lightning.
