I just saw the news, and they found human remians in the backyard of the guy who they thought had kidnapped those girls.. His name is something Weaver, and he is also in jail for raping the GF of his own son!
And get this...his own father is in prison for killing a couple and burying them in his backyard! Sad...just sad..
I live in Portland, so it was live; it's all over the news, and will be all night and tomorrow. The guy's name is Ward Weaver.
They have only found one set of remains so far, in a shed on Ward Weaver's property, with the help of search dogs. He lived near the girls, and the girls knew him. He is 39 years old.
The reason they searched his property again is that his 20 something year old son reported him (Ward Weaver) for raping his (the son's) 19 year old girlfriend last week.
When he went to the police, he said he knew his dad (Ward Weaver) had killed the girls, and they just might want to dig up a concrete slab that he poured in his (Ward Weaver's) backyard in March, after the second girl disappeared.
One of his ex-wives had gone to the FBI with that same information in March, but they apparently ignored her. She was at the scene live today. She was outraged, and let it be known that he had tried to kill her before, as well.
The other ex-wife still thinks he is innocent.
They will probably use some kind of fluoroscopy type equipment tomorrow to try to visualize through the concrete slab before they dig, to see if they can visualize human remains.
They were even showing footage of people placing signs, over the past couple of months, over the slab that said "Dig me up." The FBI and the police have no real comments, other than that they "followed procedure."
No one has positively identified the remains as those of Ashley Pond or Miranda Gaddis yet, so keep their families in your prayers, and also pray for whoever the victim might be, if it isn't one of them.
Remember, they have previously found 2 sets of human remains during this investigation that were not the girls.
