It's December 1, 2007...

  1. Happy December 1st and Happy Saturday to all my all nurses friends.
Here's a Christmas greeting to all of you from me and two of my special friends.

    http://www.elfyourself.com/?id=1126271574

It's easy and fun and you too can elf yourself!

Later today we're going to one of my all nurses friends house for dinner and an evening of cards. We met here on all nurses when I read that she was moving to a small TN town from California. Well I PM'd her and the small town she was moving to is the same small town I live it and the rest is history. Her dh and my dh get along well too. Sunday we are going to put the tree up while we watch the Titan's.

Well, it's now December...let the parties begin! Our medical imaging party is next Saturday night at the director's home. Should be a good time.

    Cheers! Everyone

    Hey! December!

A little more than two hours left of November here.

    Steph:

Did you get snow today? We had rain.

Thank you DutchGirl for starting December for us!

    Lovely rain today.

The fan WAS turn on today (at work), and festering, smelly stuff did fly, but the fan seems to have been pointed in the 'correct' direction, and as a result all the debris that flew did NOT land on us nurses (who were standing solidly together). Our MDs supported us. The issue is not "done," by a long shot; time will tell what happens.

I had to stay late to work on a last-minute cath, an inpt who REALLY needed the cath.
As a result we (dh and I) were late for rehearsal.
But we got to go over most of the music for tomorrow's video shoot.

Sat. we drive to 29Palms to help with music for church, and then we skee-daddle home and then to the studio for the video shoot.

Gotta rehearse a little w/dh for the church music.

    Y'all have a good one!

Such a small world! I still haven't seen anyone on here that lives in my area, I even started a thread to see if anyone is going to be in class with my in May but I didn't get any response.

I'll have to spread the word about allnurses.com when I get into my classes lol.

    Good luck dianah!

    Good morning

I walked out of work this morning (Fri.) and it was all dark, cloudy, and smelled like rain. LOVE it!! We rarely (and I mean NEVER) get rain. It started raining not long after I got home this morning and it's STILL raining. It's been a nice, steady rain all day ..... I love it!! I think it's going to continue through tomorrow ..... I'm going to sleep so good tonight

Hahaha... sorry to go off on a weird tangent but a nurse just came over past our office and asked me if he was allowed to go through our office to get a soda from the vending machine... when I said no, there will be no soda for you tonight, (jokingly of course and with a smile on my face) he had the kicked puppy look on his face. I guess some people just don't get my sense of humor. When I told him I was joking he REALLY got confused. I think there was some sort of language barrier...

Has anyone ever read "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran?

He is one of my favorite authors of all time. I was reading my copy again tonight at work at this one stuck out, so I wanted to share it with you:

"And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.

For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man's hunger.
And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distils a poison in the wine. And if you sing though as angels, and love not the singing, you muffle man's ears to the voices of the day and the voices of the night. "

Morning Dutch space Di Alois Rain!

Working this morning and afternoon, hope I don't get caught in the winter storm coming tonight. And hopefully I won't spend all day restocking.

    Di, "video shoot"?

    Morning, All:
I'm debating as to whether or not to make my bi-monthly excursion to Wal-Mart this morning, in order to cash my payroll check and pay bills. I should have done it yesterday when I received it. But, by the time I got off work it was late, and I didn't feel like fooling with it. In addition, it being Friday and the end of the month, I knew I would have a long wait in line. I have to carefully plan the days I go to town, for the nearest Wal-Mart is 30 miles away...and I don't have to tell you how much gas costs these days. Maybe I will just wait until Monday. I'm going into work for a few hours, and our office is just minutes away from the Wal-Mart I use.
Besides, my sister wants to put up Christmas decorations today. I don't have much Christmas "spirit" right now...maybe this will help.

My son called me last night and told me that a friend of his, who was not only the drummer in his former band, but also his Best Man at his wedding, was shot and killed Thursday night. He was out of town for a job interview and someone broke into his motel room and shot both him and a friend (robbery the apparent motive).

I last remember him showing up at my son's wedding, all decked out in his tuxedo, top hat and coat. It's just a shame. No one is safe ANYWHERE these days.

Please pray for his family and my son.
