Is this a good wedding gift for my daughter and soon to be son?

  1. Okay, here's what I'm a thinkin', tell me what you think? My daughter is 28 and even though this is her second marriage, her Dad and I wanted to give her the wedding of her dreams. First one was a JOP and the marriage was to my brother in law and it only lasted 3 lousy years......but that's another thread! So..... the wedding is March 29th and her Dad has already picked up the tab for their honeymoon, we're divorced but he's a sweetie sometimes. I was thinking that my hubby and I would give them a "return honeymoon" sometime within the first year of marriage, when they needed to get away. BUT, I have a motivation here....you see, daughter has started on prenatal vitamins, wanting to make sure when she gets pregnant, she has a healthy baby......(Duckie slobbering at the idea of being a Gramma!) They are talking about getting pregnant within the first year of marriage, they have known each other five years, lived together one year, so I agree they will be ready and as I'm certain you have figured this out, I'm all for it and will help out in any manner possible. So do you think a COUPON of sorts for a weekend get away at the time of their choosing would be a good gift? If not, any other idea would be greatly appreciated. I'm so excited at the idea of getting this young man for my son and then a grand baby would be way tooooo wonderful. Help me out please, I'm a bit nervous.

That's my momma's grand-dog. One of them anyway.
She too is slobbering at the idea of being a gramma. She's practicing the spoiling of future grandbabies on Miranda.

Actually this is kinda funny but I now have custody of our "grand doggie". My daughters allergies to dogs got so bad that she could hardly breath and when she moved out, I asked her to leave her baby with us, to keep my remaining critter company, as we had just lost one of babies and the three of them had been together for nearly three years. I was terrified that my little one would not survive if she lost two pals so close together. So, I fully understand the "practicing" part!

You could create your own card, a big card with a great picture on the front. with a picture of a getaway place enclosed- and a message "This gift is a weekend getaway of your choice ." Say "when & where". A "gift certificate for a romantic long weekend". Something like that sounds like a winner to me. Better than a new t.v. or microwave.

ducky's brother in law is her husbands brother, not her daughter's uncle, as ducky's brother is not her daughters father....

    did i get it?
