LOL. I do kinda remember the Banana Splits. Never would have without your mention though. Moon River is special to me because one of my earliest memories is sitting on the porch in a swing with my big sister while she taught me that song. I must have been just 2 or 3 years old.

I am 44, and my kids, 18 and 15 have never played an LP. I remember when we were kids we used to play 78's on my aunts record player. They came in red, and green and blue. One song we played all the time was called "Lena the queen of the uptown arena" It was a song about a woman wrestler. I have about 50 lp's and am not quite sure what to do with them. My first car had an 8 track in it. I was so cool. (or so I thought!)

I can definitely relate. I hate rap and hip-hop. Can't stand it. I don't think it has any musical value whatsoever. I also think it shows LACK of talent. So you can talk through a record SOMEONE ELSE MADE and make it rhyme. BIG DEAL.
The music of today, in my opinion, is just continually degrading over time. Every now and then, you'll hear an artist or group that tries to bring real talent and originality back that echoes of the past, but it's rare.

I really think that show inspired me to be a nurse. Last I saw, Randolph Mantooth was on a soap opera. One of the one's on ABC I think...
