Is anybody excited about Black Friday?!!

  1. ...or is it just me?

I will be sitting in front of Best Buy starting tomorrow afternoon because I have to get that laptop.....

    Hewlett-Packard - Pavilion Entertainment Notebook with Intel® Centrino® - Piano Black - dv6108nr

Call me nuts.... I am, I know it.
A poor starving student needs that laptop........

Sorry but that page says it's sold out. Most of the time these great buys have only a few per store. Walmart had one in the last couple of weeks for 499. Only 3 per store.

Not me. I haven't been shopping on the day after Thanksgiving in 30 years. I gave it up for good, after I was literally mobbed inside a Service Merchandise Store and came away empty handed for my efforts when the item I was looking for was (you guessed it) out of stock. Since that day, I have done all my shopping either from a mail order catalog or online. And I haven't been disappointed yet.

No Way will I go battle the crowds. I'm going to enjoy my 4 day weekend feasting on Thanksgiving leftovers and relax at home with my family.

I'd brave it for a good sale if I had anything to buy. This year the family is getting online gift certificates again.

They have to have a minimum of 10 per store on Black Friday. They begin to hand out tickets for the doorbusters at 4:00 am and if you have a ticket, you have the item, no fighting. That's why we are going out so early, we want to be in the front of the line so we get one of all the tickets. :chuckle

Nope, you can't get me near a store on Friday!

I generally do all of my holiday shopping online, anyway.

There are two days out of the year when I do not want to be within a hundred miles of a retail establishment: the day after Thanksgiving is one, and Christmas Eve the other. I hate crowds with a pink and purple passion---peace on earth, good will to all, yeah, RIGHT.:stone

One time years ago, I met my sister and daughters at the mall right after my shift ended at 0600, and there must have been a thousand people milling around, grabbing, pushing and shoving, and generally being obnoxious. All the door-buster prizes, gifts, goodies etc. were already gone by then, as was most of the merchandise..........well, it was NOT a good experience at all, and I vowed I'd never bother with it again.

This is why God invented Barnes & Noble, eBay, and!!:chuckle

Aw man - I absolutely love Black Friday - its my favoritest day of the year! I get up at 4 am and I'm at the stores by 0500! I always go by myself and buy, buy, buy!!! (I'm getting hyper thinking about it)!

    CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always do a blood drive the Friday after Thanksgiving.
    And party afterward.
It's like a reunion getting to see people once a year.
No shopping for me. I ask for the weekend after the holiday off in January.
Work every other Thanksgiving but NOT Friday.

I'm not suicidal. Besides, I started my Christmas shopping in August and finished yesterday.

I do need to get something to make my nieces b-day cards so I might head to Indy to go to the scrapbook store but I take the back roads there so no traffic worries.

I don't care how much I could save, I'm not standing outside at 4am in freezing weather, snow, rain, sleet to save 100 bucks on something. I'd rather pay full price and order it from my nice, warm house with a few clicks of a button.

I noticed on TV that in my area, mostly men are the ones standing outside. Don't know if that has something to do with their species or because their wives nag them into doing it.
