Interesting fact heard on CNN today

  1. I'm watching the news and seeing that the Tsunami death toll has risen to 159,000. Totally unimagineable.

What floored me was that 46% of Americans have personally donated money to the relief fund. While that is awesome.....76% of Americans have prayed for the victims. I think prayer is wonderful, I love prayer, I like to be prayed for but how can you sincerely pray for the victims and not give a donation? That brings to mind the saying "Talk is cheap".

If you are sitting in a warm dry home please pray that more Americans will open their wallets. It doesn't have to be a huge amount. One dollar can feed a whole family there for a day. I have committed to donate an hour of pay per week for as long as donations are still needed. According to the media the best use of your donations would be The American Red Cross or Unicef. Unicef accepts Pay Pal thru e-bay.
  2. Poll: Donations - Tsunami Relief Fund

    • I have already donated.

      73.33% 11
    • I plan to donate.

      20.00% 3
    • I truely cannot afford to donate anything

      6.67% 1
    • I don't feel that I need to donate. Keep my money in the US.

Cashed my Christmas gifts check and turned the money over to help out already. I felt I had to do SOMETHING.....and when I have more, I will likely send more. I can certainly live without spending that money on myself, for nitnoid things, and it will go a longer way there.

I've contributed more prayers than money and will continue to send prayers and pray/ask for many blessings for the survivors.
