Ink Stains..........Help!!!!!!!!

  1. I washed my student uniform plus all my other whites and accidentally left a black ink pen in one of the pockets. I didn't discover this until AFTER they were taken out of the dryer! I checked the clothes before I put them in the dryer, and they were fine then, so the heat must have caused the pen to explode. I have been soaking them in bleach water all night, and they look some better, but the spots are still there. Has anyone had this happen to them before? According to Linda Cobb AKA "The Queen of Clean" rubbing alcohol will reomve ink stains, but I'd need about 5 gallons!!! Any help will be appreciated!

Spraying the spots/areas with hair spray then soaking and washing them with diswasher detergent worked marvels for me ( I mean my wife ).

I know that guy is horribly obnoxious, but try Oxyclean

Hairspray(in the can) has also worked well for me in the past but usually on fresh ink. After it goes throught the dryer it's much harder. You can still try. Good luck!

I believe Janet was talking about the guy that advertises Oxyclean, not you!

Gee....thought I was the only one who washed pens in my pocket! I have used alcohol, oxyclean, nail polish remover. It just depends how badly the clothes are stained, Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your help! I have used alcohol, bleach and Iron Out (our water has a lot of iron). Some of the stains have come out, but some still remain. If anyone has any more suggestions, they're always welcome!

I don't have any tips to offer about cleaning the uniforms........but you could wear them on Halloween and go as a dalmation!

P.S. I did the same thing once and had to throw the whole load away.....couldn't find anyone who knew how to get the ink out!
