Although, apparently, no contaminated imported toothpaste has showed up in the the U.S., contaminated toothpaste has been found in Latin America. China is investigating whether or not two companies from it coastal region were involved with the tainted toothpaste. According to the article, the toxic toothpaste is contaminated with "diethylene glycol, an industrial solvent and prime ingredient in some antifreeze".
I'm thinking that it might not be a bad idea to put a temporary hold on ingestable imports from China until better quality control standards and practices are established. Yes?? No??
