I'm so scared I'm gonna end up vomiting

  1. Hi guys. I guess I'm back from my self imposed exile from my nursing cyber family. Tomorrow is decision day. That is what are the powers that be are going to do about Friday's clinical snafu. Oh God I'm so scared. I've come so far and sacrificed so much,I won't be able to take it if it turns out bad. I've never been in trouble all year in nursing school until Friday's little "dicussion" We meet with the coodinator tomorrow. Oh God. I gtta go throw up. Scuse me. W.W.

Take a deep breath, let it out slowly...and remember --

So, no matter what happens -- how bad can it be?

Everyone makes a mistake now and then; you've never been in trouble, and no patients were endangered...

    Take another deep breath...

If the "worst" happens, what will they do?

Kick you out of nursing school? (I think that's farfetched, myself, since you've never been in trouble before -- and usually it takes a LOT to kick you out -- and it usually has to do with something that is illegal, immoral, or endangering)

Make you abase yourself before everyone you know while screaming, "I am not worthy! I am not worthy!" I personally don't think they'll go this route either

I think you're probably going to be subjected to "We don't want this to happen again, what are you going to do to solve this problem?"

Let us know what happens, OK?

PS We've all done stupid stuff under stress, including your instructors...

Warrior woman.....you will NOT be kicked out of the program! You will be reprimanded for your behavior that one particular time, and then you'll have a chance to make amends by apologizing to those who were involved. I'm sure you've learned your lesson, and will not be doing something like that again. So...relax...take it slow...thank God you will survive that ordeal, and from it...you'll be a stronger person. :kiss

You will probably get a lecture about professional behavior, and be told to work out your problems with this other student. Don't worry, I have seen many nurses argue at the desk in front of patients and visitors. I have even seen doctors do it. It is not professional, but you won't get kicked out of school for it.

warrior woman, i received some advice years ago that i will never forget, if you ever get in a jam, on the spot, tough situation, confrontations, etc.. "take the high road"...

there are different choices you can make to react and act..

hope this helps, it helps me a lot.

Just do their cartwheels that they want you to do... They always want to make these things a learning experience unless you've had more than one problem... then you become an example. Like I said, just do their cartwheels and don't say too much.

Remember your name here...WARRIOR WOMAN! That's what you are. Apologize. Explain the problems that you've been having with your mom. And most of all, say it will never happen again; and mean it. Good Luck, Shygirl
