I'm Baaaack!!!!!

  1. Not that too many will remember me here, but I was a member loooong ago, while in LPN school a for awhile there after.
I also was a member while attending RN classes, but it was not meant to be. It wasn't a total loss for me, but I missed going on to my last semester by 2 points.
My Momma had been diagnosed with cancer and developed diabetes in the midst of everything else, and I moved her in with me to take care of her. So, if that's called a failure, I'll take it.
Mom needed me, and I needed to be with her.
Anyhoo~ she passed on in July, just a mere 5 months ago, but I am ready to go on again!
I have applied to another college (where I have my LPN through) and should find out within a few months whether or not I will be accepted to their ASN program this coming spring.
I have since taken on a job at a nice nursing facility here in town, and am happy there (for the most part, but doesn't everyplace have a few glitches?). I'm stil working weekends (my choice), and enjoying every monute of 3rd shift! LOL!
    Things new with me are....
3 new grandchildren (since last year at this time), 2 more on the way, I have also developed diabetes and now I also have bilateral hearing aids to boot!
I sure am looking forward to "coming back home" as they say....

Talk to you all soo! I'm off to peruse the boards and see what else is new! (Brian... this is ALL changed, huh?)

    Love and hugs~

    Welcome back!

I'm so sorry about the loss of your mother.

If I recall correctly, you were working weekend shifts, and your previous job was attempting to either demote you or lower your pay rate significantly.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know that taking care of my mom was the most taxing job, but also the most fulfilling. Special (((HUGS))) for you!

Julie, I could never forget you! I'm so happy to see you back here...........I'm sorry about your Mom, but it sounds like she had the best of care while she was ill. Bless you for being there for her during that difficult time.

THREE grandkids and two more on the way? WOW---and I thought MY girls had been busy (during the time you've been gone, I went from zero to three grandkids myself). Congratulations, Grandma!!!

Sorry about the diabetes too---you and I are in the same boat, I fear, as I too have developed high blood sugars over the past few months. I haven't yet screwed up enough courage to go to the doctor because I don't want the diagnosis, but my glucometer keeps telling me otherwise........my fasting sugars are running in the 140s and 150s. I guess we'd both better take care of ourselves so we can watch our grandbabies grow up, no?

Anyway, I'm glad you're back "home", where everybody who's been around awhile knows your name!

    WELCOME BACK JULIE!!!!!!!!!!

Honey, I have a very foggy memory now, and live in an assisted care home. However I do remember most of you. So if you would update me, I probably will remember you.

Isn't being a grandma the bestest thing in the world? I just love it. It keeps my young at heart. I don't know if you know or remember, but I have COPD, but my new doc has managed to get me stabilized. I fired and renamed the old one after 10 years of not believing me and of mis diagnosing me. I call this type of individual a person with a huge head and a tiny body.
