If you weren't a nurse...

  1. Suppose nursing was not an option for you.

What career path would you have chosen and why?

For me, I would love to be in the travel industry, probably a tour guide or a cruise director on a cruise ship or something. I don't want to be the ticket taker or gate agent anywhere that people form a line; those poor people get yelled at!

Or something creative; I love interior design and architecture and wouldn't mind being successful in something involving those.

    What about you?

I always thought about, had an in-the-back-of-my-mind thing, to be an archeologist. Have always been fascinated about Egyptian artifact. Wanted to go on digs and the like.

My mother told me I'd starve.

And, I've always been drawn to the Bed and Breakfast industry.

Hey, can you tutor my 23 year old son? He took 3 years of high school spanish and now is taking Spanish 2 in college and high school definitely did not prepare him for college.

To answer Don's question though - I'd have enough money to stay at home and raise my kids AND homeschool them so we could travel at our whim.

    I honestly don't know what I would do if I weren't a nurse.

I'm interested in several things, but I don't know if I'd like them if I had to do one of them for a living.

I always wanted to be a commercial airline pilot, but back when I was choosing a career, that was not an option for women. Maybe one of these days I'll get my private pilot's license just for the fun of it.

Hmmm. I'd probably be serving my time as a commissioned officer in the infantry....

.... since I'd never have enough money to buy a plane and barnstorm!

I would be in the Navy flying F-16 jets as planned until I chickened out.

I'd probably be a flight attendant, cruise ship worker, traveling saleswoman, or long-haul truck driver. Any occupation that involves regular travel would be a serious consideration for me since I have always suffered from wanderlust.

I wanted to be a flight attendant, but at the time I started nursing school you had to be 21 to go to flight attendant school (someone said because of serving alcohol). I also like photography. But really and truley I would like to be the next JK Rowling, started on a book but my ADD sometimes hinders me in sticking with things. Get bored easy. Lot of ideas jump around in this brain it is just getting them on paper.

Probably something with computers. Being a kept woman sounds nice at times too. Then again we all know how attractive walmart looks after a bad shift. Seriously though, I'd be a stay at home mom and volunteer at a rape crisis center.

    Hi
I also had thought about archeology, as well as library science.
But, you knowm back in the early 60's, women didn;t have so many options as we do now! Especially if you were as shy as I was!
