[font=verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif]canberra - the line for the toilet is about to get longer.

[font=verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif]fed up with the mess created by kitty litter and inspired by the cat "mr. jinks" in the hollywood film "meet the fockers," an australian woman has invented a toilet training system for cats called the "litter-kwitter."

cats CAN be trained to use the toilet, I knew someone who managed to do so. HOWEVER I am not willing to take the time/effort to try and get my two furballs to do so. The one will play IN the toilet, however, so I am having to constantly holler at the kids to shut the lids in all 3 bathrooms UGH!!! he is a real weird cat.

I've got one cat that does that too........he just loooooves to splash in the water, whether it's in his water dish or the john (that's why we named him Johnny). He also licks the wood furniture and gets 'high' from sniffing freshly washed hair.......strange fellow, that Johnny Cat!!

One of my friends at work actually managed to teach her cat to use the toilet......it took a lot of time and effort, but she says it was worth it not to have to clean the cat box all the time. Me, I've got FIVE cats, and there's no way anyone around here has the time to teach them all to use the potty.......besides, there's also the need to FLUSH, and even my friend's cat doesn't have that part down. :chuckle

Wow maybe teaching our cat to use the toilet can be my daughter's summer project. First we'll have to teach her not to drink out of the toilet.

    Good question, Z!! :chuckle

Yanno, that brings to mind the time my daughters, who are both grown now but were about 4 and 1 1/2 then, decided to play their version of the Ty-D-Bowl man in our toilet. I was in the kitchen making dinner when I heard all this giggling coming from the direction of the bathroom, and knowing my kids' infatuation with the toilet bowl, I went in to check it out.

There they were, Amanda in the tank with her toy boat, and Melly in the bowl wearing her little sailor hat!! Amanda would flush the toilet, and Melly was shrieking with delight as she watched the boat head for the bottom of the tank while simultaneously dancing around in the bowl. :chuckle

My niece used to LOVE playing with the toilet bowl as well - splashing and giggling as she did so

    Silly little kid!

I do have pics of both my kitties, one is only 6 mo old (the toilet dweller) and the other is 14 years old.....very old and very crotchety, but my baby. She is persian, he is a gray mutt we saved from a shelter. Love em both. i Have to figure out HOW to get their pics uploaded here. We also have a golden retriever and guinea pig. It's a zoo here, not including the KIDS!

Is it a separate toilet or the one I or my family use?

I'm not sure I want to sit on a toilet after a cat uses it.
