I was all choked up the other day

  1. Hello my friends. I just wanted to share with you something that happened a couple of weeks ago when my mom was in ICU. There was another family waiting for news on their family member who was diabetic and also had Cushing's Syndrome. This person was also on a ventilator and was generally in horrible shape. Well, the neurosurgeon walked in and talked to the family and basicaly told them that they would probably have to make the decision to take her off of life support as she was getting no better and was suffering so. The entire family was devastated. Everyone was crying, including me amd I didn't even know these people. The next day the sister of the person on life-support was coming out of her room which happened to be right next to my mom's room. She was in room 8 my mom was in room 9. The sister came out of her room, and I came out of my mom's room at the same time. She looked at me with such sadness my heart bled. I reached out and pulled her close to me when she started crying. I put my lips to her ear and whispered"I'm so sorry,I'm just so sorry." I just let her cry for as long as she needed to. I could relate to her pain to an extent, because a few days earlier I thought I was going to lose my mom and all I wanted to do was die. It hurt that bad. So holding this lady was all I could think of to do. I pray every day that her sister as welll as the rest of the family is at peace now. I only hope I did the right thing by reaching out like that and didn't add to their pain. Keep this family in your prayers please. Love to all, Warrior Woman.

Warrior woman...that was a very special thing you did for that woman. :kiss I would have done the very same thing, so you did what was in your heart to do, and that's what makes it so special. How about putting them on the prayer thread that Hoolihan started? Hope you and your parents are continuing to do well. Come to think of it........weren't you suppose to have your doctor appointment today regarding your heart?

Renee, I DID go to the dr. today, and he concluded that the pain was stress related. But to be on the safe side,he upped my dosage of the beta-blocker that I take which is atenolol from 50 to 75 mgs. a day. for pain control. I will let you know how it works out. I love you. Warrior Woman.
