So one has it easier bending down and the other reaching upwards, seems we tallbies and shorties need each other. I am 5ft 4in and my husband is 6ft 3 in, he gets the stuff I don't want to get a stool to get and I get the stuff he doesn't want to break his back picking up from the ground.

The term you're looking for is 'fun sized'!
My daughter says she's fairy sized! She's 5'3"

We often had "afew" tall people. My Dad is 6'3", I am "alittle" over 5 foot.

One time I asked my patient how tall she was, she said "4 foot 12". So I said "5 feet?" She said "no 4 foot 12" she paused for a minute and it clicked. I told her "congratulations, you can now tell everyone you're officially 5 foot"
    LOL...you read my mind.

Can I just say the title makes me think of this? Hyperbole and a Half: The Alot is Better Than You at Everything

Also, the companies making patient and OR beds need to consider making them longer. I shouldn't have to go steal a piece off an OR bed in another room to use as an extension for my patient who is 6" taller than the bed is long.
    Love that book!

Pixierose, we are not vertically challenged at all. We are space efficient. We fit in places where big people can't go.

I get bullied by the tall people at work. They think it's funny to put the ceiling IV polls on the shortest setting so I can't reach it. After watching me struggle a bit they will come in laughing and pat me on the head saying "now now little one" as they lower it back. I now have a fear of giants. I can't even read my kid Jack and the Beanstalk anymore.

Well this is an entirely different kind of nurse bullying than we usually hear about. Care to make a featured post?

I am 6'5". I couldn't blend in if my life depended on it! I know otherwise, but it's pretty much accepted that wherever I go, I'm the tallest.
I hear ya! When we aren't in the States, we live in Central Asia, where it would seem the average height is about 5'7", men and women alike. We are both 6"+. We were told to try to blend in. We laughed.
