I love my job!!!!

  1. The new unit I transferred several months ago has finally got it's own new crew specific to that unit, rather than being staffed by nurses floating from another unit.

The crew is so awesome, although manly contracts. But for once I can say I work with a 100% positive hardworking bunch of people. I try to set the example to keep the atmosphere like that. They work as a team, we laugh, joke have fun at work. They don't cuss me out when I make assignments!

    Gasp! Pinch me I'm dreaming!

Awesome! That is wonderful! I remember some of your postings before you transfered. I love my unit too. It's actually fun to go to work. When people work as a team, it makes all the difference.

Tweety - over teh next six months you will find that things other than work will also turn around for you and slowly tension you did not know you still carried will leave. At present you probably think you are already destressed but I will ask you again in six moths to relect and you will be surprised - it is true people make the workplace.

Try to keep this "honeymoon" period going as long as possible and from you rposts I am sure you will.

mkue and angelbear. There are plenty of staff positions on the unit as I said they are mostly contracts, alas they can only stay six months. But if that is the atmosphere when people get there, it's more likely to stay that way. Come on down!

I think you are right about the atmosphere. If it is good it tends to stay that way or get even better If it is already bad it usually only gets worse. Count yourself blessed.

Sounds good to me too . . . I'm having some thoughts about a change myself. Although most of the people I work with are "team players" so that isn't the issue.

    Congrats Tweety!

Hey stevielynn, I know a OR in Colorado that would love to have ya, come on over.

Tweety, so glad to here things have gone in such a positive direction for you. Kinda funny how a good working environment can change ones whole perspective on life in general. It certainly happens that way for me. Just flat out in a much better space when things are pleasant at work.

chrissy . . . .OR? And wear those funny blue hats?

The only time I'm in OR now is when we do a cesarean and I'm the baby nurse.

I've been a nurse for five years in a rural setting and know a little about alot . . . . . I'm finding myself wanting to know more than a little. But the nearest hospital is 75 miles away and I have a toddler and 13 y.o. . .. . the other two older boys leave for college in the Fall. I don't want to be so far away from home.

Actually winning the lottery and staying home sounds good to me. ah, dreams . . .

Thanks for the offer though . .my husband loves Colorado
