i LOVE my new job!

  1. gosh it seems as though the three days of crying/puking/freaking out were almost for nothing
    i LOVE my new job!!
i started at a large teaching hospital, general pediatrics. my nurse manager and all the staff seem so nice. they had a little banner taped to the nurses station welcoming me and the other girl starting on that unit with me! I was so scared, and even though i haven't really done anything, just the fact that the staff has been nothing but considerate and welcoming makes it so much better!!
the only bad thing is the 15 minute walk from the parking lot (literally 15 minutes, it's over a mile) and the fact that the hospital is SO BIG i get lost ALL THE TIME.
but i just wanted to share my GREAT news! and the pay is SO MUCH BETTER than Walmart!!!:roll :roll uniforms are better too! :kiss

    Well, Congratulations .......
I am so happy that all is going well, and that you are comfortable there. Sounds like they are wonderful people to work with too. The banner was sweet

    Enjoy!!!!!!!

Glad to here you like your new job. It is always better when you like the people you are working with. Plus the increase in pay doesn't hurt. Good to hear things are going good for you.

Good for you, honey! things are rarely as bad as we make them in our own minds! I am SO glad that there are good nurses in the world who still appreciate the value of a new nurse, and don't feel threatened or challenged by them. If you haven't already, get some pepper spray, and carry it at all times as you walk to and from your car. Does the hospital have a transport shuttle that you could ride to your car?
What kind of uniforms are you wearing?

hmm....well to me it's better than walmart! you do that enough years and anything new is better!! i'll miss that little discount card though!

Cathy-- no transport system that i know of. it's a sucky walk, especially in 95 degree weather with a bookbag or 2 with you
and my uniforms are the best! blues clues, spongebob, winnie the pooh, clifford.....i can't wait!

Kewl---yep i'm in rochester at Strong....i interviewed in buffalo but kaleida really needs to work on thier personnel skills...the recruiters kinda sucked. i left there with no intention of taking a job if it was offered...the recruiter at childrens was very rude to me, making me feel as though i was wasting her time. so i am very happy to have found this job...the drive sucks almost as much as the walk though...about 75 minutes with hardly any traffic....

thanks for the kind words everyone! NExt step....i got my ATT from the chauncey group today, i'm callin tomorrow to schedule my boards!!!!:imbar :imbar
