Why is that in some recreational or things we do for enjoyment, other people see a need to badmouth out likes as though they are wrong and immoral. Take for instance, people's taste in music. I have been blasted, and any other word you choose about my like for 80's rock, techno, and other forms of music I like. That really pisses me off. I can understand if someone is polite about telling me that dont like my music..... but dont be an a%*^&^ about it.
Thanks all, I needed a place to vent. Feel free to take my poll on your favorite type of music too
Hi Nick...no one should be badmouthed for their personal taste in music.
I personally like Kenny G and a few other talented smooth jazz artists. I don't like to say I like Jazz...that's too big a window...I don't like ALL jazz artists style of jazz which is why I say this. Other jazz artists I like are Boney James, Paul Hardcastle, Rick Braun, Wayman Tisdale, and Najee... If a jazz artist plays like these guys, then I love their style.
To each his own...that's what you should say to those who badmouth your taste in music.
I went on a dinner date with a guy once who played country music the entire time in his truck. At the end of the date, he said it didn't dawn on him that I might not like country music. I told him that the reason I didn't say anything is because he was sharing "his world of taste" with me on that date, and I had a great time with him as I was getting to know "Him". That's what is meant by embracing a person's culture and who they are. If we can't do this with one another, we miss a blessing along the way, and lose out on getting to truly know one another.
My husband loves rap...sometimes raunchy rap music...which - PERSONALLY - I CAN'T STAND!
However...I married the man and all that he is I accept. We compromise with one another's taste in music...He loves jazz too, so no problem with him listening to my music. I can BE TOLERANT with the Rap as long as he plays the "clean rap songs" aloud, otherwise, he dons the earphones for his listening pleasure.
