I Had My Baby!

  1. We greeted Paige Elizabeth into the world Thursday night, just before midnight. She was a little early, and a little small, but perfect in every way. The delivery was flawless, the nurses and other staff were awesome, and I couldn't have asked for a better birth experience, considering the pregnancy was so hard this time around! She's at home now and all is well- we're going to have the best Thanksgiving this year!

P.S. If anyone has any tips on helping a dog get used to a newborn baby, I'm all ears- my dog is being a major weirdo right now.

    Congratulations!!!

Make sure you pay LOTS Of attention to the dog-----jealous behaviors are bound to heppen----mitigate them by being extra nice to your dog, or you may be in for some unpleasant behaviors. Been there, done that, believe me.

So glad your "blessed event" went smoothly! I love the name Paige, too!

I have cats, not dogs, so I'm afraid I can't offer any advice; hope Mi'Shelle's link helps (I just wouldn't leave the two of them alone for a second!!).

Enjoy your bundle (is this your second??)!

Beautiful name for a beautiful baby! Congrats to your entire family! :hatparty:

As for the dog issue? When I brought my oldest dd home from the hospital, our one year old German Shepard leaped and growled at her one night while I was sitting in the living room chair nursing her. I jumped from the chair holding the baby tightly yelling for my husband to come get the dog. After that, I never nursed her or left her around him. I wasn't afraid of the dog until he turned on my baby, then my mama claws came out. We ended up giving the dog to one of my uncles. They had no children, and he was used to raising big dogs. He eventually turned on my uncle and my uncle had to "tame him" in a way that was not "animal kind" but he didn't try hurting anyone close to him after that.
