I finally got to ride!

  1. This last weekend we went to Phoenix to visit my Mother in Law :stone . I decided to trailer the bike out there and the weather Sat was great. Robin and I went on a nice 4 hour ride. Down the interstate, up some winding mt roads, Man! Was it ever great to get out there again. The bike was running super! We found a little old ghost town called Tortilla Flat and had a couple of beers. Lots of other bikers out there too.
I'm feeling a bit rejuvinated now.
Came back home yesterday to fresh snow and 25F weather.
    C'mon Spring!

Wow, it sounds like such a nice break. Good for you.

I had a boyfriend when I was in my twenties with a bike and we used to go for drives along the coast - so very peaceful . . .and do stupid things like drive 100 mph on the freeway w/o helmets . .not that a helmet would have saved us at that speed. Anyway, a drunk driver hit him one night on the way home from work, which was a mile from work. Had multiple arrests for drunk driving too. My friend died 2 days later, never regained consciousness. This was in 1982 - before all the new laws.

Sorry . . didn't mean to be a downer . . . bikes always remind me of my friend. And I'm a virulent anti-drunk driver bigot. :angryfire

    Snowing here too . . . . . hurry up Spring!!

My husband & I took our bike out for the first time yesterday, the weather was great!! It's the first time we've ever had the bike out in February ( we live in PA), there were a group of about 16 of us riding yesterday, stopped & had dinner, then stopped & had a few beers.
Steph, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, that is a terrible thing.((((hugs)))).

It is perfect bike weather! Too bad my husband got rid of his bike. He sure is missing it!

Robin tells me as we are a couple of hours into our ride "What they say about riding is freedom, that sure is the truth isn't it?"

That does sound like a great day.

(Steph, sad story, being an old neuro nurse I'm very much anti-drunk driving and pro-helmet.)
