yes, i did.... however, not being a hairstylist, i just looked in the mirror and did it--- and went the wrong way with the scissors on the one side, so my hairstyle ended up somewhere around my left temple.

    it was sad.....

Yes I have done it. I usually take it off slower so it is not so shocking. can you post a picture?

I did the same thing about a month ago. Hacked my mid-back length hair off and then cut it in from of the mirror. Never had so many compliments in my life and I have gotten $50 hair cuts before.

Well, I just got my hair hacked off - quite short. I did this on Friday after having a bad day (see Interview thread). I DID go to my stylist who's $50 a hair cut - since then I've been sick so I can't even tell you if I like it or not. I think it looked cute when I left; it's short with the ends curling upwards and somewhat frayed - or Meg Ryan-ish. (like Adrie but brunette!) Oh - I have some pictures of Fattie to post later on.

Yep.....on more than one occasion. I don't do it myself, but walked into the salon and had my long tresses cut into a pixie cut.
I do this fairly frequently. Hmmmm........

Don't tell me this NOW! :roll I am growing my hair out for the first time in 30+ years! Looked like Judith Dench two months ago. SHORT! Have had it short since I graduated from high school -- but never a short pixie. Loved it. However...

Now looking forward to a medium length shag, with perm. My hairdresser tells me it should take a year and that by June I'm going to hate the way I look (that horrible stage). But by next Christmas I should be ready to perm and have the style I want.

I realize medium length shags are not in fashion, but I saw one on a woman my age about two months ago, and she looked great. Hope I do too! :roll It's also time for a change. At least, if I don't like it, I can cut it off.

PLEASE tell me that long hair isn't hard to take care of! I don't remember! :roll

interesting,, my poor hair,,, always got the punishment,,, when i was stressed,,, cut it short,,,, "shorter",,, colored it,,,, permed it,,,,, two years ago,,, started the paxil,,,, now one lenght,,, below my shoulders,,,, healthier,,, that ever! think it's directly correlated with stress,,,,,, just my opinion,,,,

    happy holidays ~kitamoon

Hmmm... hence the expression......"tear my hair out!"

Never have worked on the back part but I have cut my bangs when I was very young. I usually throw things when I am in a bad mood or having a bad day....

I do it often - let it grow - get sick of it one day - make an appointment and get it chopped - then do it all over again

I have been debating what to do with my hair for a year. It's finally long enough to play with, and yet I still have the urge to chop it all off! The last haircut I got was right before I started my new job last January, and I got it cut pretty short (for me, anyway)- about Suzy's length with lots of layers. Well, I loved the layers but hated the length. Now it's grown out, and I don't know what to do with it!!! I hesitate getting my hair cut because I'm so picky and it seems like no matter where I went to get it cut it ended up looking the same! I need a change. I have been thinking about getting the color changed, but again, I debate and debate and have yet to get it done! I go back and forth- do I want it red again? All red? Red with highlights? Do I just want caramel highlights over my natural color? Lots or just a little? Do I want to totally lighten my hair, THEN get highlights? Do I want to go darker and just make my natural haircolor richer? If I don't get highlights will I regret it?? ARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHH. I used to work as a receptionist in a salon, and I could get my hair done for free anytime I wanted and any way I wanted. Since I've gone into nursing, I've been stuck in a rut. A friend of mine opened his own salon, and I finally went in yesterday and made an appointment with him to get something done, but it's not until JANUARY and I'm driving myself insane. I keep thinking, bangs or no bangs? Long layers? Short layers? Flippy layers? My husband has completely given up on me. :>( Somehow this thread has been comforting to me- perhaps because I know I'm not alone in the desire to take a pair of scissors and start hacking!
