I can YouTube! and so can you...

  1. I've been "Youtubing" for a while now.

So I decided to see how hard it would be to make and post a video.
Turns out it isn't hard at all!

    Here's my first attempt

    Tell me what you think.
And share your videos (link) too!

OK, what's the secret, Roy? How'd you do it?

I have a digital camera that does videos but I have no idea how to post them, edit them, or add music.

    I'd love to learn!

PS I really liked your music selection, too.

I assume you have Windows XP?

There is a simple software in it called "Windows Movie Maker". If you can't locate it in the "Start" menu, go to Start->Search and search for it.

That program itself is pretty simple to use. Basically, you just "import" your photos to a collection and just drag and drop (into the timeline at the bottom of the window) in the sequence you need. If you have a fair understanding of computers, it's a snap.

If you're really stuck - watch this! The guy is giving instructions on how to make a video from existing videos - simply use photos instead of videos and it's the same thing!

Don't get discouraged. And don't be afraid to experiment! If what you make turns out to be a lemon, the delete button is a hand breath away

Thanks. You mean this song or the ones I post in the Good Morning threads?

I couldn't find a half way decent video for this song in YouTube - so I decided to make my own

    C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe

Type the above line into your "Run" box (Click Start -- > click Run) and lemme know what it does...

    By the way:

If Movie maker doesn't work out but you want to convert your photos to a movie with sound, music and narration - check out Photo Story 3.

Here's the link to "How to make your first photo story".

Oh geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh... more geeky computer stuff for me to want to delve into now... gee THANX, Roy !!! You KNEW I wouldn't be able to resist!

But alas, no time today, or for the next several weeks, for sure. Might be something I will have to check into once the weather craps out on us for good, and I'll be stuck indoors through the winter mos.
