I am soooooo procastinating here. . . .

  1. There's about 5 or 6 things I should be doing right now. Anything from preparing to go out to our Easter dinner (we're going to a Japanese restaurant for Easter Sushi! ) to writing music to working on a video to petting my dog to . . . .

Let this thread be for procastinators like me (or not like me) who should be doing something else. . . but are not. . .

Post about anything. . . Really. . . post about anything here. No rhyme (or rhyme if you want) or reason. Write about how you clip your toe nails, or which finger you use to pick your nose, or share your favorite color, or why you didn't become an astronaut. Just as long as you're NOT DOING what you know you SHOULD be doing. You know, like:

    mowing the lawn
    doing the dishes
paying the bills (Actually, I always pay the bills on time. It's one of many of my neurotic compulsions!)
    painting the house
    fixing the leaky faucet
    brushing your teeth. . . .

    Long live procrastination!

Write on! (pun to "Right on")

    Ted

    P. S. I'm off to change into my Sushi clothes! YUM!

Well I should be doing a CQI study for my bosses today but I will wait until during the week to do that

I should be studying my history and getting my vocabulary list done for it.....but how do you define "The Great Depression" in 20 words or less......

Oh wow. Geeesh. I used to be SO organized, SO "a time for everything and everything on time"... nearly O/C about stuff.
Since I've had my computer, that all changed. And since having Allnurses, it's gotten even worse. :imbar

Yes, I SHOULD be working out on my bowflex right now... and I've been saying that since I passed NCLEX 7 weeks ago ! Have I started? no.
I SHOULD be reorganizing my cabinets under the kitchen counter and throwing out half the stuff there. Have I done THAT yet? no .

There are SO MANY things I used to never even think twice about doing when I got home from work, and on my days off...got soooooo much accomplished, started new projects and finished them.. but now? During the winter months I'd tell myself it was ok, nothing else to do anyway...justify, rationalize. But now spring has sprung, and I'm STILL spending WAY too much time on this box ! Definately a love/hate relationship with this thing!
And I always find new stuff.. like the Gifworks site, and now I'm doing all kinds of creative "playing" with that... just too much neat stuff to do with a computer !

Right now I'm SUPPOSED to be studying my ICD 9 Code workbook for work... I did the first section then decided it was time for a break. My "break" has been longer than the time studying ! (see why I had to abstain entirely while I was studying before?)

OK..'nuff. GOT TO do something constructive here ! aaargh.

Dust Bunnies are now Bowling Balls....
    Easter Eggs ARE hardboiled---missing color
    Easter Baskets are full....

    Activism got new posts today
Leaving for work now---on my day only oncall...

Shew ! And I thought I was the only one... ... I DID get those put away a couple weeks ago, though!

And yes.. I just started back on my workout routine after reading this new thread. I just couldn't stand it anymore ! I HATE myself when I'm like this, and I don't like to hate ANYONE.. much less ME!

So I'm between bodyparts right now.. taking a breather. OK, that's enough... now on to chest and back.. (shoulders, biceps, triceps are done)... catch ya again before I do legs...

    Later!

Now I feel really bad. I'm sitting on my arse staring at this box while Jnette is working out! Enjoyed a nice Easter dinner, have some laundry going for the week ahead, and started some strawberries in a hanging basket. Still have MANY other things I need to be doing, but y'all are just so darn interesting, I'm afraid I'll miss something! Has been a great day, though. Alright Jnette, I guess you've inspired me. Off I go.

    wooHOOOOO !!!

I FINISHED it ! THANK YOU, Ted, for starting this thread ! It was the trigger that got me off my own arse here ! I've been putting this off waaaaaaaaay too long, and I used to be SO disciplined about it ! Guess just getting started agaion after having quit for a good time, is the thing to have to get beyond... a mental thing, really. But now that I've done ONE, I can do them every day ! LOVE how I feel after.. love the burn, love the CONTROL..heh, heh, heh...

OK, y'all this IS Easter, so don't be down on yourselves for slacking off today. Take this day and do what YOU want !

We can all start off on a new foot tomorrow! That includes you, Kimmicoo ! I remember only too well how all I EVER did was study.

So take a break today. ok?

So Plum..are ya doin' it? Are ya, huh?

Thanx again, Ted. You made us all feel bad enough to get off our hineys and DO something beside sit here at our puters ! :kiss

    Laundry, Laundry, Laundry.

I am forever putting it off, and then I whine about how much there is. If I didn't HAVE to iron everything, it would be easier. I like everything ironed though.

Congrats on finishing your project! Really! :hatparty:

However, my goal wasn't intended to make anyone feel bad. I was just being silly. . . :kiss

I am, though, the role model in advanced procrastination! For 43 years I've been getting around to doing things, finishing projects, meeting deadlines. . . at the last possible minute! My mother said that it took too many hours of labor before my head started to pop out! :chuckle So, I guess procrastination is just in my blood.

What's interesting is that I'm sitting here, typing about procrastination, when I should be working on a project that should have been finished over a year ago. . . a project over 2 years old! There's many reasons why it's taken so long to complete this particular project. Unfortunately, one of them is me allowing myself to type, type, type on these bulletin boards!

    Type, type, type, type, type, type, type. . . . . . . . .

    Oh well.

We have a new goal to finish this project. The fall of this year. Got to get it done!!!!!!!

In the meantime. . . how about we support each other in accomplishing our pet projects. . . the ones that are important but, for some reason or another, always take a back seat to too many distractions. Words of encouragement; success stories; unsuccessful stories which served as learning experiences. (Did I spell the words "success" or "unsuccessful" correctly??????)

At any rate, here's to all of us! Procrastinators and non-procrastinators alike. May all of our projects, big and small, someday become completed. . . and leave us feeling like Jnette:

    "WooHooooo!!!!"

Well, I have my Christmas presents bought and wrapped for next year.

I've ironed my underwear and my table napkins

My CD collection is alphabetized by artist and arranged in genres

I've moved the grass, trimmed the hedged, painted the house, planted new papaya and mango trees

I've knitted tons of baby clothes for when my 13 year neice makes me a grand uncle one day

I've swept and mopped behind the refridgerator

I've made all my meals and packed my lunches for the next week.

Martha Stewart eat your heart out.

    Just kidding.
