I am single and have absolutely no advice regarding your husband or your relationship however I would like to encourage you to adopt (rescue) an adult dog from a shelter or humane society. Two years ago I adopted a little black female terrier mix who was estimated to be 1 year old at that time and in April of this year I adopted a 3 year old male hound mix. They are both beautiful, good natured, and house broken. Adult dogs are usually beyond the destructive stage and they are quite trainable and adaptable. Since adopting them, I have had my yard fenced and installed a doggie door so when I go to work they are free to go in and out all day long. I don't have to worry about 12-14 hour days (can't leave puppies loose in the house even with the doggie door because your wouldn't have any furniture left).

This is just something to think about. Good luck with your negotiations.

I know that OBHeather will give one of her derogatory comments, but I agree with you!

Cats and dogs are SOOOO different. Personally, I despise cats and their attitudinal personalities. If I wanted to get hissed at and scratched for taking care of something......

Ok, I know. I'm a dog lover and just have have had a few bad run-ins with some rotten rats...I mean cats.

Forgive me cat lover's for not being exposed to any good ones.

    (Is this discrimination?...hahahahah)
