I am really ticked off at AOL.

  1. Did you hear the latest outrage. One of AOL's employees sold email addresses to spammers. I am not talking about one or two, I am talking about millions. AOL claims while there were no credit card numbers given out the same employee got access to info about what type of credit cards people use and sold that also. We are talking class action law suits galore if you ask me. Mean while I am going to suffer twice. Once because I am one of the poor slobs being spammed todeath and the other because my Time-Warner stock will no doubt take a nose dive. It has just recently recovered and now it will be going down the toilet for sure :angryfire .

I would not hold AOL accountable for crimes committed by an employee, since who can predict or control that behavior? However, I appreciate the heads up. I cancelled AOL after many years, but only to get DSL. I have a free account for email.

Cancelled my AOL years ago when it took my high-spped computer and modem 45 minutes to log on onto the Hotmail site, and repeated moofs. Takes 2 seconds with any other company.

AOL wasn't worth it to me, but then again, i heard the parental controls were great though.

I have never had any use for aol except aol messenger, and the only reason i use that is cause most of my family and friends have it.

I agree with purplemania in that AOL as a company cannot be blamed, this could happen to any company. Bad apples.

I left AOL months ago after quite a few years. I'm now wireless and I love it

There is a long standing legal precedent for holding a company responsible for the actions of it's employees - it even has a name - vicarious liability.

Now maybe I can get some info on refinancing my home, or how to make my body parts er...bigger, or FINALLY find some of that elusive internet porn.
