I am proud to be an American

  1. Yes that's right I'm proud. I may not agree with everything Our goverment does, but I'm proud.

Let's try to have a positive thread.

Include your country and something you love about it, and something you admire about another country.

I've never been outside the US but I would love to go to Ireland sometime.

I love America's pride in itself. We don't hem and haw like Canadians, unsure of ourselves.

I love Canada's little secrets like Timbits and touques and "a part of our heritage commercials" and "scarborough suitcases"... we are a goofy people.

I love a lot of other things, but those are 2 of my favorites things of my countries.

I love the incredible variety of nature that can be found in America.....the mountains with their trees and lakes, the wild deserts of Arizona and New Mexico, the vast plains of the Midwest, the gently rolling green hills of the South, the riotous colors of a New England autumn. I also love America's strength of character and its indomitability in the face of aggression.......we may not always be right, but we're strong, and with better leadership we could once again be great!

I love my freedom! I can choose where to work, where to live, where to go to school, what religion I am...

I also love my freedom of speech! I can say "I DON'T LIKE PRESIDENT BUSH" and mean it-and not get thrown into jail!

I love the wonderful mixed bag of emotions the America so readily wears on its sleeve.

I love HEART of the people... and that America is not afraid to feel, nor show it. We laugh easily and we cry easily. It doesn't take much to move us.

I love that we pull for the underdog.

I love that when the chips are down, we rise to new levels of hope and strength.

I love our freedom. I love that we have choices. I love the scenery and I have only been as far west as missouri (before 2 years ago I have only been as far west as Ohio).

I love that I can speak my mind even if I completely disagree with the powers that be I have the FREEDOM to say what I think and agree or disagree.

I love everything about being an AMERICAN and I am PROUD to say I am.

I am proud to be an Aussie not just because ours is one of the most unique countries in the world. Everything from how ancient the land itself is to the fauna and flora are that one step different.

I love how we help the underdog but kick down the tall Poppies so that more can be truly equal. I love our pride in the "little Aussie battler" embodying hard work and mateship. I love how we are not afraid to give lip to a "pollie" (politician) and demand that they do what WE want.

I love how we value honesty and courage so that they have become goals for the average man. I love how we can still be optimists while voicing a cynical view of the world.

I love how we will "pitch in and help" not with money but with people and sweat when there is need to be met.

I too love the freedom we enjoy and that we're not afraid to fight for it. I love the pride we have in our country.

I love the "can do" attitude, the scenery, the people, the freedom to not love some of it! I sure missed it all while I was away.

I am proud to be an American!

I have been illogically proud that a friend or even a nurse i have never met did something wonderful.

With my country as with my family I believe it is necessary to earn that pride.

I would feel guilty to harm my country or allow others to harm my country.
Therefore I believe it is my responsibility to at minimum raise my children to be good citizens, to work at a useful occupation that helps others or does no harm, and vote.

I also enjoy the beautiful people (nurses most of all) and the land, water, trees, other plants, and animals.

I enjoy every moment of illogical pride when a friend becomes a citizen of this country. Mostly I love my country because it is my country, land of my birth.
