i am bored out of my mind

  1. so i go from 40++ hours a week....sheer mania....to tv and computer and latch hook rugs. i am losing my mind. cant do much cos it hurts like heck to walk so i mainly sit. and then for entertainment i sit somewhere else. if i want to be daring i sit on the bed.
    im very good at sitting.
sometimes i sit on the stoop outside....stoop sittin. thats just too damn exciting for me.
when i get bored sitting...hard to believe i know...i sleep.
i can outsit/sleep any of you.
    im the master sitter/sleeper.
if i dont go back to work soon i will find myself on top of some high building with water balloons.
gotta go....i need coffee...gotta keep up my energy.

Gee, I kinda understand, having just finished a 2 week bout with bronchial pneumonia myself.
I was so weak I couldn't latch onto more than one thought-- "Can I go back to work now?"

If I had my wits about me, I would've:
    1. taken an online course in something
    2. started that scrapbooking project
    3. redone my webpage that the stupid mean msn people got rid of without telling me first, so i have NO copies of some original writings....
    4. read all of echo heron's books-- in 2 days...
    5. studied my acls stuff more

*sigh* I didn't get any of that done. Cause I was sick

I'm sure I forgot to write down "Because I hate being sick and I'm sure everyone else does too" when they asked me why I became a nurse. So glad I didn't have to be bored in the hospital!!

Have you thought about buying a staw hat and taking up whittling. Stoop sitting is so much more fun when you become a tourist attraction...

Look out, healing thoughts coming your way!!! So frustrating, tho
, it shouldn't take so long, cuz we're used to being ACTIVE!!! Hang in there. --- Diana

...than being laid up. I can tell that you HATE it. I am trying to think of something that would cheer you up and the only thing I can think of is "think of how nice it will feel when you can walk pain free again"! Not much help, huh? Well in the meantime, I am sending good thoughts your way and prayers for quick healing.

P.S. Have you tried playing free cell?

    this nurse,
I'm having my hip replacement next week. I'll be off work for 3-4 months. Let me know how the whittling goes, maybe I'll start. We could start a whittling group that meets every week. Hell, maybe we could start selling our creations and start a new business. Oh well I'm gettin carried away cause I'm tired and sore and can't wait till this is over. 8 more days of gimpin around work and then I'll be the bionic women!
Take care thisnurse, hopin you feel better soon.

Garsh, Kaycee! I didn't know that you were fixin' to go bionic! After today, it will be 7 days before I can get cak to the computer, so take it easy, and don't pop that sucker out before it is healed. I've healped relocate those things in little old ladies who rolled over in bed and popped them out. It like to have worn the Ortho and me out, yanking on the patient from opposite directions! Those are strong muscles!

Thisnurse, somehow I missed why you are laid up-my apoligies. I hope whatever it is that you are feeling better. You must be-my Mom aalways said that when a sick person begins grumbling that is a sign that they are getting better! LOL!

As for me-sitting, lying, standing, everywhere EXCEPT riding-give me a book, and I am lost to the world! LOL!

You have my sympathy, I too have been off work since I herniated a disc in my back, spent 5 days in the hospital on pain medication and steroids then ended up having surgery a few weeks later. Thank God I am ok now but I have another surgery in July for something else so I am not planning on returning to work until the Fall. I am addicted to the internet and with my lap top I can sit anywhere.
