Husband/Significant Other

  1. My husband was a heavy equipment mechanic and garage foreman for 30 years, until the company he worked for went bankrupt. We found out that they had been using the pension plan for operating expenses, so he doesn't even have a pension to show for it. At 50, he decided to go back to school and got his associates degree in information technology. When he entered college, he wa sure he would get a good job, but after last September, the economy has been so bad. We live in an area that already had a depressed economy, and it has only gotten worse. He has not been able to find any job. So right now he is chief cook and bottle washer, and Mr. Mom to the grandkids. We have talked about leaving the area for more opportunity, but don't want to leave our kids, especially with the problems my oldest is having now.

By the way, it is illegal to use a pension plan for operating expenses. His former boss is "under investigation," but still lives in his big house and drives a BMW.

Honey is shipping manager for a computer company. He pretty much doesn't want to hear anything unless I really need someone to talk to...which works for me since it makes it easy to leave work at work....

I was posting when the system went down, and when it came back up, I found my life story posted 13 times. I know I am a fascinating person, but no one wants to know that much about me. I tried to delete the posts, but can't. I sent an email to Brian to remove them.

My hubby was a firefighter. He retired after he fell from a 3 story height breaking all the bones and then some... He recovered from this only to get cancer.... he is doing better. He should have been pushing up daisies 3 yrs ago when they told him he had 6 months to a year. He lost alot of his charm when the cancer (brain tumor) happened.... effected his personality and was very bitter and angry all the time. He is now doing well and is fun to be with again. There were times when I missed him and HE was right in front of me. He surprized me the other night when he told me I reminded him of a song called a "REAL LIVE WOMAN" it is a song by Trisha Yearwood and at 3 in the am he came in and woke me up and played it for me and we danced....I keep falling in love with him over and over again. He is retired and is only 40.
But he keeps busy and encourages me, he is my number one fan....

My SO is a respiratory Therapist. Luckily he understands all my venting about work but sometimes it is harder because he doesn't want to hear my rants after a long night and likewise i don't want to hear his rants if I had a bad night.

My husband is not a rocket scientist. He is a mechanic at a local garage. But he is wonderful. I too find myself falling in love with him over and over again. Sometimes I wonder why I could had fallen for a rocket scientist, but there is no way I would trade him.
This is a second marriage for both of us. our kids consist of yours, mine and ours. And he raised my girls (3&5at the time we married)
as if they were his own. Now we have a grandbaby(my oldest)
and he is more of a grandpa to him than anyone. He is an awesom man! We have had a wonderful life and will continue to have, and have and will grow old(er) together:kiss
