How long has it been since you have actually witnessed a sunrise??

  1. I got this question from the dayperson/nightperson thread.

Islanders always talk about the beauty of a sunrise and how activity ceases for the for the 10-15 minutes it takes for the sun to rise over the horizon.

Have you seen the sun rise? Do you know when you saw one last? Are we so rushed that we have lost touch with the free natural cyclical beauty of our mornings?

I have heard adults say they hadn't seen a sunrise since they were a child.

I`ve turned into a morning person the past few years. And as the temps in the afternoons here are in the high 90`s, ealy am is in the 60`s,70`s. so I sit on the patio, and watch the sunrise most mornings.........Arizona has the most beautiful sunrises, and then the hummers come and keep me company, as the feeder is right on the patio. Cuppa joe, newspaper, and I`m set for the day.

I will this AM on my drive into work. I get up 3:30 - 4:00 leave for work by 5 to "drive into work" byt 6:45. It is a lovely view coming from the plains and lights up the Rockies to the Purple Majestic lights in a very poplular song!

Now that the days are shorter I will see it almost every morning, although I will be too busy to really enjoy the whole thing. If it is a particularly spectacular one I try to point it out to the kids as they have breakfast. We are thinking about adding on an east facing sunporch and that would be lovely for sunrise viewing.

Almost every morning on my way to work, although I would prefer to see it not sitting in my car and fighting traffic. Still, I'm glad I get the chance to see it and enjoy it. I love sunsets just as much, and love to cruise out to the beach to see it from atop a sand dune.......

I am sitting here trying to remember the last time I DIDN'T see the sunrise.
I'm an early riser, even on my days off.
It seems thats the only time I get to myself these days. The quiet of the early morning while everyon is still asleep- gotta love it!

Umm, does seeing the light change through the window at work count as seeing a sunrise?

If not, its been years. My sleep schedule is so skewed now....

Opposite Rusty, I am most assuredly not an early riser.
