hoop earrings_interview

  1. I am wondering if all hoop earrings are a no-no for an interview for nursing school, the ones i want to wear or the size of a dime. But i thought i read some where that hoops were a no-no. Should i just wear some studs in my ears. I know not to put earring in my second hole or my cartliage :chuckle , but i am just wondering about this little hoops situation.

Also should i take my charms off my gold chain, it my two kids birth stone charms ,one a little boy and one a girl. Should i just wear a :uhoh21: gold chain

for clinicals, yes, hoops and excessive jewelry may be frowned upon... but for your interview? i would be highly surprised if you didn't get in to nursing school just because you wore hoops to your interview... i would think, when it comes to how you're dressed, that as long as you look professional, it will be fine... i would wear the small hoops...

    good luck!

    Keep the look simple.

I wore khakis, button-down white ironed shirt, and one pair of small earrings, and very little makeup. I learned at a seminar to dress for the job you want.

OK, u see i would be afraid to wear khaki's, when i talked to lady she said this is a professional interview, then i got a letter this week saying please dress appropriate, so i dunno, i was going to wear a pants suit with a white cami with simple black pumps tommrow, , IS this too much :uhoh21:. The tech school i was in it( had to turn down, do to lieing on thier part) had no interview, but this privately hospital run LPN program, is a little harder to get into, I am at the last step, so i want to do this part right, loll

Sounds like you will look just lovely. I wouldn't think there'd be a problem with really small hoops but if you're concerned perhaps you can just wear a simple pair of studs. I don't think the bracelet would be a problem but again, if you're concerned about it then just a plain one would work too.
I'm sure you'll be fine. Best of luck to you!

I think the outfit you describe sounds appropriate as long as the cami is not too low cut. If the earrings concern you that much I would wear studs. Good luck

I think the pants suit will be perfect. It's never a mistake to look professional. And the hoops and bracelet sound fine, as well. As long as your jewelry doesn't make loud clangy, distracting noises, or draw undue attention (think Melanie Griffith in Working Girl..haha), I think it will be fine.

dress for the interview, not the job. The most important thing to wear is a smile and, if that is your picture-avatar, I can tell you have a nice smile.

A suit is my rule of thumb- conservative jewelry and make-up...Some good questions would be things like the average percentage of students from that program that pass the boards... You may want to know the average class size... Size of clinical groups and number of intructors present....What are the clinical settings? Ask for assistance with your loans and any available grants that you may be eligible for...Approximate cost of books....You will be great! Good luck.

I think both the charms and small hoop earrings are alright. Also don't forget to go easy on the perfume and your pants suit sounds great also. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Great point about the perfume! I'd advise skipping it altogether. Some people are super-sensitive to it or get headaches.
