I actually know several people I would describe as honorable: here are their professions: President of a adult education company, physician, lawyer, nurse, university professor and an independent editor. I know all these people personally, and they are honerable people, full of integrity, accopuntability, compassion and joy. They do not compromise and they do what they set out to on time, every time. I'm not saying that all MD's or lawyers or nurses etc are honorable, but these people really are. I don't think the profession has anything to do with the persons honor, I think it has more to do with personal integrity, accountability, and respect for others.

I have often heard nursing reffered to as the honourable proffession, as a distinction between, nursing and the other 'traditional' proffessions. In fact it is on some of the recruitment posters, I haven't heard of any other honourable proffessions.

The first Minister I ever knew, and a couple since.
AND, my Dad, who is a retired firefighter. In 51 years, I have never known him to lie or not keep his word. I call that Honorable!
