Holiday Plans!!

  1. Hello West Virginia Nurses;
I asked this once and the topic was moved to another forum that I could not post on, but here goes again.
    1. Who works Christmas?
    2. Who is off and planning to spend Christmas with family?

I just wanted to take a minute to wish all of the hard-working nurses of this state a Happy Holiday Season. :xmas_smilies_daz: :xmas_smilies_daz:

I work Christmas eve 7am-7pm then I am off Christmas Day. I have been lucky, pretty much everywhere I have worked did it fair. In my past jobs we just worked 2 of the holidays--Thanksgiving, Christmas eve, Christmas day, New years eve and New years day and had the rest off.

I dont have any definate plans although I was able to take the first week off in January to watch the bowl games. I also want to wish a Merry Christmas to all our WV nurses. I am lucky, I dont have to work hard anymore, I worked hard enough the first 5 years out of college. Of course I probably wouldnt be able to put a 24 gauge in an AC now! :roll

    Enjoy your day, Noryn.
Guess everyone else cancelled their holiday.

We never have had a lot of people on this board. Not sure why though. I would think we would have 10-15 regular posters here.

And thread is moved once again to the Break Room as it does not pertain to nursing issues.

After working a 12 hour day shift on Xmas, I plan to head home to open gifts, have some dinner with my feet propped up, & enjoy myself with my family. At work I am bringing in 2 quiches & a fruit salad for breakfast & others plan to bring in snacks. We all get our "Holiday" dinner at work too. Hopefully no one will die that day, have to be shipped out to a neuro, cardiac cath or to shock trauma either. I expect to be in Triage that day & it will be interesting to see what people present with on a holiday.
My Jewish friends plan to hit their fav Chinese restaurant after work & we all hope to have a calm, uneventful day.:Holly2: :Reindeer:

I am working; unless we stay slow I've asked for Christmas day off. I've already celebrated my Christmas at the cottage with my best friend & some family! No fist fights this time! Had a real nice the spare room painted with curtains up even! It was so nice in MN that grilling turned out not to be a problem at was above freezing!

The kids even got out some of the board games and played them! That was so neat...what I had dreamed of happening! The lake is frozen over and looks like glass! I wished I had the courage to go ice-skating on there...but I don't know how to tell if it's safe?! My one uncle said it should be over 2 ft thick by now. I did hear the ice crack one night....boy it's loud! Neat!!!

I wish all of you fine folks a Very Merry Christmas!

I'm at work now - unusual lull with all patients sleeping (shhhh, I didn't say that!) and all paperwork and other stuff done. I'm working the next three nights too (8 hours).
Tomorrow night - or is it tonight - my sister comes over for Christmas eve and sleeps over. I'll be getting home from work around 8:30 a.m., I'll put the rest of the presents under the tree. Can't put anything edible under early as Oscar (my greyhound) will think it's a doggie buffet. I'll wake the kids around 9 or so, we'll all open presents, DH will make breakfast. Around noon I'll go to bed, around 2, DH will take the kids to his sister's for supper where his mother and brother and adult nieces will be.
And then, it's back to work for me at 2330.

Are we having fun yet? ;-) Actually, I don't mind this at all.
