Helpppppppppppppppp!! I'm in music HELL!

  1. My husband got a bootleg of a recent Rush concert that's really good sound quality and he's been playing it NON-STOP for a week now! UGH! I cannot stand Rush and I'm being forced to listen all day every day. I'm even in the office here with the door closed and I can STILL hear it!

    Oh, the compromises of marriage!

    OMG, your hubby too???!!!! :chuckle

It's the 30th anniversary tour, ya know ... so my 40-year old dh went to the concert here in Pittsburgh, and is traveling w/buddies to the shows in Cleveland & D.C.

I said, "whaddya think you are? A 20-year old Deadhead?" I think they'll be camped out selling tye-dyed t-shirts out of the back of a Nissan Pathfinder.

    My sympathies ...

Dh recommends you take up playing banjo. (he does, and I feel your pain; he plays just about every day! Still love him. )

My sympathies. No one should ever be subjected to listening to such awful bands as Rush.

I am glad to hear that my house is not the only one. Funny, he hasn't listened to Rush in yrs now all of a sudden he is listening to cd's and watching tv at the same time. Which might I add, he has been doing on the sofa aaallllll day! Somebody is going to be punished by having to bathe the dogs tonight.

Oh, I can't leave out the story about the $400 Rush poster ...

The evils of EBay - my dh purchased a "limited edition print" (supposedly there's only 500 of them) of the Rush guys photographed by some big name photographer, to the tune of 200 big ones. Then of course, the *&%$! thing had to be framed, and it's a very odd size, so that was another $200.

So a $400 poster graces our (unfinished) game room ...

It's a good thing I love this guy, or his $400 Rush poster would be sitting on the curb!

Edited to add: OK, so it wasn't Ebay - it was directly from the photographer, Andrew MacNaughton, who is their official photographer. And the $200 proceeds from the sale went to a pediatric AIDS foundation in Toronto. So it's a good thing. Now that's all I have to say about that.

Hahahaha! I can't believe some of my fellow nurses are having to go through the same torture Do your hubbies also love Dream Theater and worship Mike Portnoy as if he were the god of all music?

MLOS...my hubby is going to a few shows as well. Luckily, I won't be with him! And the poster! OMG! :chuckle

dianah~ banjo? You poor dear! My dh polays the drums and he's great, but sometimes you just want to scream...'WILL YOU PLEASE STOP THAT RACKET!!!!!!!!!' :chuckle

ang75~ Yeah, make him bathe the dogs AND do the dishes! :chuckle

He LOVES music and also coordinated his trip to see his mom and dad in Wa. state around 3 Dave Matthews Band Gorge Amphitheater shows. I wouldn't mind going to those! But it's in Sept. and I don't want to take my daughter out of school right in the beginning of 4th grade.

    Oh, you poor dear!

My hubby likes Rush too, but he's more of a metalhead. Half of the stuff he listens to, I can't even begin to consider music. One can only take so many screaming guitar riffs and incomprehensible singing, ya know......

I Feel for you!!! Geddy Lee MIGHT have the most annoying voice of all time.... :uhoh21: Although, my boyfriend likes them, too. What is with the silly boys?

hehehe...yes, his voice is EXTREMELY whiny!

I remember my cousin and I watching MTV when we were really young and some Rush video came on...She screamed 'It's a witch!!!' and we both cuddled under the covers.

I think that Rush is my absolute LEAST favorite band. I cringe when they are played on my radio station, but thankfully it isn't that often. As far as I know, my husband has no interest in Rush. I am truly sorry for those of you who are hearing it daily.

Hey, nothing wrong with metal. I actually quite like it. Well, as long as it isn't ALL screaming and no singing. :chuckle
