Help me please!!!!!

  1. Help

I have a huge exam in the am. I can not focus on the material. I am so afraid of failing with only 19 day left before graduation. I know the material, but I can't put it together. I have tried to read the chapters and notes, but I find myself re-reading the same paragraphs over and over.

    Any suggestions????

Put it down and go take a bubble bath, go to bed early, and get up early in the am and study then. If you can't focus, it's a lost cause. You need to remove yourself from it totally for a while, then come back to it. That is what usually works for me.

That's what I thought, so I came here for a breather.

Anything that takes your mind off that and allows you to relax for a bit is good. What is your test on?

My suggestion is don't try to re-read. OUTLINE it. You have to find the salient points and comprehend it in order to do that.

It's mental health. Depression, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Anxiety disorders covered on this test. Including meds.

OMG, how depressing...pun intended. That is a hard topic. Good Luck.

Good suggestion Amy. Tele, do you have any NCLEX books yet? You would get all the highlighted parts from there.

Found this for ya, not sure how good it is http://www.csubak.edu/~bfleming/lect351.htm

Or, use your care plan book to study the appropro interventions

Go to bed and wake up early for an overview. That's what I used to do. Good luck!

What works for me is to explain it to someone willing to listen. If you want you can call me and I'll call you back (I have unlimited weekends and nights) I'll be more than happy to help. I know those moments of desperation before a test. I'll try to PM you with my number.

Thanks for all of the support. Going to bed in an estimated 8 minutes. I will get up early and try in the am.

Ummm, my assessment might be: too much Easter candy causing a sugar high?

I always have the worst time concentrating when I'm either too tired or O.D.'d on sweets--I just can't concentrate and the weirdest things come out of my head and mind.

Try eating carrots and celery sticks before your test. You can munch like crazy but not drive yourself nuts with too much sugar.

Good luck today! Psych is a squishy subject - try not to overthink the questions too much and just go with your gut.
