I love my little Saturn. It is my third. Gets great gas mileage and just fits me. Depends on how much room you want and how much driving you do and how much gas you like to buy.

whatever you get just make sure you can pay cash for it... Cars are a good way to throw away money because they loose value very quickly. I would reccomend a used car with about 25K-30K miles or at least three years old. cars loose their value fastest during the first three years and loans add to the amount of money you loose on them (interest).
Toyota makes a solid car and/or truck - always dependable. Hondas - the motor will outlast the body (about 225K-250k miles if you treat it right).
Fords always need the most repairs and the soonest (est. 125k - 150k miles max).
Chevy's and Pontiacs will usually only last to about 150k miles if you treat them right. I had a 97 Grand Prix GT that I put 20k miles on a year and it had just hit 100k miles and the transmission locked up... It was my fault for driving it hard and on long road trips but I will not buy another one.
I personaly have a 2001 Dodge truck with 44k miles (just bought it about a month ago) it's a gas hog but a very nice ride, I bought it mainly because I got a great deal on it money wise. I will probably trade it in for something more economical when I start nursing school though.
    Hope this helps.

I have a 2002 VW Jetta V6 and absolutely LOVE it. Great car, lots of pick-up, handles very well, and SO MUCH FUN to drive. Jettas used to have little computer problems and such, but they've ironed them out and it's highly-rated now.

I love my saturn. Very, very dependable car and when I bought it they were great to work with.

Side note, moving this thread to the Break Room.

I bought a Hyundai Sonata 2 months ago, I really love it, very comfortable, quiet, good on gas. All the bells and whistles too. You can't beat the warranty either.

I can also recommend Saturns. We have 2- one SL1 and one Vue. They are both great and the people we bought them from are ao nice. It is so easy to buy from them. They also usually offer 0% financing and interest. That is what we got on both of ours. Both cars are really dependable and definately have good gas mileage.

I also love my Saturn. Recently bought my second one. The first one I bought used, and had it for four years. Never had any problems, but was getting close to 200,000 miles on it, so figured I was due a change.

I also took advantage of the 0% financing and got a new ION. The trunk is larger than the older Saturns, and with the four door, I can fit just about anything in it.

I'm getting about 31 miles per gallon.

Get a Kia. They are so much fun to drive. Very peppy, but also very economical. I can go for over a week before I have to gas my Sephia up. Great cars. WW.

Just bought a Buick Rendezvous and LOVE it. Great gas mileage compared to my bigger SUV, handles nicely, all wheel drive, plenty of room for groceries, a kids bike if need be.

Try checking out Car and Driver's top 10 and pick from there. I have a friend in the auto industry who says the Ford Explorer Sport Trac's are fantastic. I'm swayed, but then I'm a truck person.
