Help explain my dream..??

  1. Hi Everyone,

Had a dream recently, and it's kind of bugging me. First let me say..I kind of afraid of heights...not all heights. You know like going up in the space needle...places where you can see the outside and there's not much room surrounging you. If I'm on the top floor of some places I get an uneasy feeling...I and I can tell I'm up high without opening my eyes.

Anywho..here is all I can remember of the dream. I'm waaaaaay up above a crowd of people...and they're sitting like in an auditorium. I'm moving in and out of the balconey..where their are these small columuns close together like on a porch or stairway, and I'm sitting between them with my feet over the edge!.. I waiting for the speaker to finish, and then I'm thinking that I will just climb down to the stage and introduce the speaker. I sit between the columns..with no fear. I'm totally comfortable being there. Finally the speaker is done...and I start to climb down....again...totally unconcerned with the height. Somehow I realize that I'm being introduced as the Keynote speaker...and then I don't remember anything. All I remember is being totally confident I can get to the stage...and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get there.

    Help ...anyone??

it sounds to me that you have had to make some sort of decission in your life and you have finally come to acceptance that this is going to happen
because you mention that you have a fear of height and felt completely comfortable

    good luck

Stairs, stairways and stairwells are traditionally felt to symbolize a passage to a different state of consciousness. If you are going up stairs it means you are getting to a higher level of awareness. If you are going downstairs you could be regressing or exploring parts of your subconscious you didn't want to explore before. In either case, the stairs are a bridge to a different state of awareness/consciousness. I am deathly afraid of heights and get dizzy to the point of almost fainting, yet, I can soar to heights in my dreams. I was told this indicates that I have a great deal of unrealized potential.
My guess is that you are also capable of realizing great potential, or at least have the desire which is why you were figuring the best way to get to the stage. "All the world is a stage". Sounds to me, like you are getting ready to start on a journey, Brownie.

I'm no dream expert, but I was really into interpretation for years.

WOW...Las Vegas Rn...post just gave me goose bumps!! You know it's funny you mentioned stairs...because the nite before the dream about. I dreamed I was formally dressed in an evening gown...with long gloves up to my elbow. I'm walking around....and I'm looking at a lot of well-dressed people...obviously with money! I start to walk down these long stairs. All the people I pass are the same as the people I just described. I feel like Grace Kelly..as I slowly descend the stairs...with seem to go on forever. As I'm walking down ...I remember that this is a bad thing...and I turned an try to go back upstairs!! But when I turn to go upstairs..the people change...and they're trying to prevent me from getting up the stairs! I become frightened...and all of a sudden a door appears..and I'm fighting to get to it!!! The room turns dark and ugly...and the people do too! I'm scared...and then I wake up...then the next dream I remember is the first one I posted..??? :confused??

Yep; your role in the dream has "expert" written all over it. I agree, Las Vegas RN

I've found a Celtic proverb that may help

"Apart from sleep where the creative act seems involuntary and instantaneous, it does appear that a creative process goes on all the time beneath the level of conscious thought"

Neil Gunn, the atom of delight

    Happy solstice

Lot of issues in this one. This is a warning - the journey you are going on, people you know are not going to be as supportive as you want. When you make your decision, whatever that may be, you may find resistance from others you thought who were "with" you. Doors traditionally symbolize a "coming of age" and/or change - big change. A lot of people are afraid to open doors in their dreams or find difficulty getting through them, usually because they are afraid of change or fear a forced change. Sounds to me, that you want change and there are people or outside forces that are discouraging it. Or, that you feel it's too hard to change because of outside factors.
Another school of thought - the people you saw in your dream could be you fighting your internal desires. hmmm....

I think you might be right on both schools of thought! I definitely do want to make a change....and I'm working on that now...but not sure if it's what I really want. You have given me a lot to think about ... Thank you for taking the time to do so..

Dang, LasVegas, where do you get all this dream info?? You're good!!

Okay, what does it mean when you dream about fighting with family members? I mean PHYSICAL fighting, not verbal. And what does it mean when you take running leaps and fly in the air for great distances then land and have to run and take off again? Over farm land?
  14. by LasVegasRN
Thanks, Shay! I dabbled in dream interpretation for several years, I just found it fascinating. Some of the info came from very old books I found in thrift shops and a little from new books. Most of the stuff came from my relatives - my maternal grandmothers family who were African/Haitian/German/Seminole Indian descendants.

Fighting with family members - most often the family member you are fighting is a representation of yourself. What you have to figure out is who that family member is - who do they represent inside of you? You usually have these dreams when you are worrying over something about yourself and are having difficulty finding an answer.

Farm land normally represents growth and cultivation - of yourself in spirit or intellect. Flight represents freedom of thought and movement. If you have to "ground" yourself to get back in the air, sounds like whatever type of growth and cultivating you are trying to do may be meeting with obstacles that you are trying to clear. Or, you may be experiencing so much at one time, you have to "ground" yourself to steady your flight.
