Help, clogged toilet

  1. :imbar

Ok yall, don't laugh but when I dumped my birds water in the toilet some almonds in the shell whole also got flushed, well now the darn thing is clogged, I can't tell my hubby he will blow a gasket, always telling me to throw the nuts away first. Help, what am I gonna do, OMG the plunger thingie doesn't work. I am in a panic here. I dumped a gallon of bleach, it didn't work, I put a entire bottle of drano, it didn't work. (hyperventilating)

Gotta go plunge some more, OMG this gives a whole new meaning to crap !!!!

did you try putting draino down the sink/shower drain also? Sometimes this helps, I know, because my child went thru a flusing stage.

~~Make sure when you use the plunger that you kinda ease it down in there and try to get it(the plunger) to fill up with water and give up it's bubbles of air. that way when you plunge you will be pushing actual water down the tubes instead of compressing air~~~ Good Luck~~

sounds like a helluva a lot more than birdseed is at issue here. if the plunger is not working and you are knee-deep in do-do itmay be time to shut off the water to the toilet and call a plumber. Chances are, it's a lot bigger than you can handle and NOT your fault ! (at least not yours alone). It happened to me once and they had to root out our sewer lines, tree roots were to blame for a huge backup in this case. I wish you luck!!!!

This doesn't sound like a problem you can fix yourself-- time to call a plumber!! Yuck yuck.
Unless you have the worlds smallest toilet hole, the problem is something bigger than... almonds? (sorry, not a bird person)

Turn the water off babe, admit defeat. Believe me, you'll laugh about this soon.....

If you want to try one more thing before spending the money for a plumber, you can rent a plumber's "snake" at any equipment rental place and try snaking it out yourself. Not that difficult, and if you ask they will tell you how to use it when you rent it.

If you have a very stiff, heavy wire coat hanger, you can use pliers to straighten it out, then bend about an inch long peice at the end, so the end is a little loop instead of a sharp end. Put on some gloves and use it like a plumber's snake to jam down in the toilet drain to unclog it. I learned this working LTC nocs, when pts would stuff paper, styrofoam cups, etc down their toilets. No maintainance on nights, you know. =)
    Good luck!

I like you so don't get the wrong idea but it probably was not a good idea to dump anything related to birds in the toliet. Besides that did you try a snake? Roto rooter is what it sounds like you need, Good luck! Snakes are not to expensive at the hardware store.

dood, call a plumber, and get a snake...feed the bird to the snake,.....

JK, seriously call a plumber,'ve gone beyond what you can sanely remedy yourself in a timely fashion....

oh..and let us detail-mongers know how you make out!!!

I agree with heather, I can't see how almonds down the toilet would clog it up. (and I AM a bird person). It was probably just the last straw on the camels back??? In any case, I also agree.... call a plumber! (your hubby doesn't HAVE to know you flushed the almonds does he?)

Do all of the above, AND Please be careful when mixing different stuff down toilet...Gues you were lucky this time..But bleach+ toilet cleaner=toxic fumes !!!!SIL has scarred lung from doing this !!!!!!

And, I agree, probably more involved than a few almonds....unless there like a whole pound of the things...

    Toilet troubles NO fun
Hope things are getting worked out!!!
