Just that I remember the wreck well. My neighbor's son worked the boats, and was supposed to have been on board the Edmund Fitzgerald, but backed out at the last minute because he met some girl and decided to stay in port longer.

Oh wow! He sure had an angel on his shoulder that day. I wonder how he coped afterward? Sorry, I'm a minor league historian on this particular subject. I've been fascinated by it since I've been 13. Guess I love a mystery.

He was only 19, so he took the whole thing pretty casually. His parents and others in the neighborhood where he grew up did not take it so well. Especially since he didn't contact them until a day or two after the accident, an they thought he was on board.

Oh man what his poor folks must have went through. When he got older hopefully he took time to reflect upon it. At the very least I hope he apologized to his poor parents!!

Wow! Haven't heard of the movie news...but I hope it's true! My husband is a history buff on that particular incident. His dad was in the Coast Guard up there around that time.

Yeah, It's seriously being considered. The toughest part was convincing the victim's families that the film would be accurate and respectful. Plus it's been agreed that no more dives are to be conducted on the wreck site. It's considered a grave site now.
