Headache cure?

  1. I was wondering if anyone has a idea to ward off the headaches I get almost daily now. I come home from work, shower and go to bed around 8:30am, but I wake up around 11:00 due to a pounding headache, I can tell you when it will rain based on the intensity of my headache. So I have to get up, take a motrin, drink something with caffeine and hope it goes away soon. This happens to me every summer which is probably why I hate summer time. I keep my airconditioner and fan on and it helps because in the heat and hummidity my head feels like it would explode. Sorry for the rant, I am just tired and my head is throbbing.

Does the glare from the sun bother you? Maybe that could be a cause? I hate waking up with a headache, cuz then the dang things stick around all day!! Hope you feel better!!

Almost sounds like a cluster headache to me. How about Barometerbird?

BadBird--the same thing happens to me in the summer time. Headache all day until it rains, then it goes away. They also abate after the sun goes down.

Interestingly, I didn't get any headaches when I lived in CT or MA. I've heard that the mid-Atlantic is particularly bad for allergens. You're in Pittsburgh, but perhaps it's a regional thing.

Oh, forgot to add that my mom swears by sniffing salt water. But I haven't had the guts to try it.

My bestest friend was having migraines on a regular basis until she started taking a magnesium supplement. She had tried Tylenol, Excedrin, Imitrex, everything, but since the mg, she rarely has one, and if she does have one it's bearable. It's worth a try, anyway. I hate having a headache, but Excedrin always works for me.

It works for me. I have a chronic sinus infection due to allergies. Never had them until I moved here. nothing cures it and I don't have insurance to persure anything beyond oral antibiotics. Sniffing the water clears them out for awhile, but it does come back.

I also get migraines, I've tried all the above. Imatrex worked but it made me loopy! I finally have something that works with out making me tired, loopy or sick, Zomig. It's SOOOO expensive, but nothing works except it. Get's rid of it all together in 40 mins, like I've never had one. (I feel like an ad for the stuff!)

    Headaches sucks!

I guess I love working nights because I feel so much better when the sun goes down. I take allergy medication occasionally but I wasn't particularly sneeze today, I ended up taking a second 800mg Motrin only 3 hrs. after the first but it did knock the headache out. When I lived in FL I had headaches year round, here only in the summer. Well, I am back on track now and getting ready for work. Thanks everyone.

Lean the ironing board against the couch and lay with your head pointed downward for awhile.
Nothing like letting the blood rush down to cure that H/A.

: and no I'm NOT obsessed with the ironing board (before anyone asks)
